Welcome to Programmer's Day!

The Day of the Programmer (in Russian: День программиста) is an international professional day recognized in many technology companies and programming firms, that is celebrated on the 256th (hexadecimal 100th, or the 28th) day of each year (September 13 during common years and on September 12 in leap years). It is officially recognized in Russia.[1][2]

The number 256 (28) was chosen because it is the number of distinct values that can be represented with an eight-bit byte, a value well-known to programmers.[3] 256 is also the highest power of two that is less than 365, the number of days in a common year.

ACC Preview #3 - UNC (dukebasketballreport.coml; King)

When last we saw UNC, Villanova’s Chris Jenkins had just driven a stake through the coach, team and fan base with the greatest NCAA clutch shot since Christian Laettner’s famous 1992 shot vs. Kentucky.

The stakes were a bit different: if Laettner missed, Kentucky won. If Jenkins had missed, Villanova still had overtime.

Like the 1992 game, there were two great plays at the end: UNC’s admirable Marcus Paige hit an astounding, double clutch three pointer to tie the game before Jenkins hit his epic game winner.

Some other things were different as well.

In years past, before the UNC scandals destroyed the university’s reputation, the Tar Heels were seen as a model program.

That’s not the case anymore. After the massive scandal, which saw nearly two decades of academic fraud among a host of other problems, the whole idea of the UNC Way was shattered. There’s not enough glue in the world to fix it.

After the scandal, we see that UNC is no better than Auburn, Kentucky, Fresno State or UNLV.

The Confidential (atlanticcoastconfidential.com)

There are several instances where the Bible discusses nakednesss. For example, in Exodus 28:42: “And thou shalt make them linen breeches to cover their nakedness; from the loins even unto the thighs they shall reach . . .” Isaiah 47:2-3, adds “Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers. Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen.” Exodus and Isaiah certainly suggest that exposing the thighs is exposing one’s nakedness. And up until a few decades ago, this seemed to be a concept that Christians and non-Christians alike shared as a general moral compass for our society. Not any more. But the Bible speaks for itself. And, if God believes that exposing the thighs is being naked, what does this say about female cheerleading outfits? It says that female cheerleaders today are naked.

In other words, if you are a female cheerleader today, you are a naked person in public, at least in God’s eyes. If you are a parent of a cheerleader, you are a parent of a girl/woman who exposes her nakedness to all that are watching. And, yes, this means that NBA players in the 1970’s were naked too. This is a standard that applies to both genders–male and female–do not expose your nakedness by exposing your thighs.
