Asparagus is known to have diuretic properties, be a laxative, and even a sedative. Some people notice a strong odor in their urine after eating asparagus this may be due to a sulfur compound called a mercaptan that is in asparagus which when broken down releases a funny scent.

Four-star tackle Devontae Dobbs from Belleville (Mich.) tweeted on Monday evening that he had received an offer from Syracuse. The 2019 prospect has no shortage of suitors, ‏with an offer list that includes Auburn, Michigan and Ohio State.

2020 quarterback Mekhi Hagens has an offer on board from Syracuse, his first Division-I offer, he tweeted on Tuesday. 247 Sports lists the Hazelwood East (MO) prospect as a dual-threat.

2019 defensive end Jalen Hunt tweeted on Tuesday that he had received an offer from the Orange. The Belleville (Mich.) native also holds offers from Iowa State, Kentucky and Temple, among others.

Remembering Keith's: Syracuse's 'Million Dollar Temple of Vaudeville' (PS)

Earlier this month, work began at the former Sibley’s Department Store in downtown Syracuse to transform the abandoned building into the Redhouse Arts Center.

The arts center will include a flexible-space theater with seating for up to 400 people, a smaller theater which will hold up to 125 people and rehearsal rooms and classrooms.

Redhouse, which currently has a small theater in Armory Square, is spending $10 million on the project and hopes to have a soft launch in March 2018.

The building at 400 Salina Street has been vacant for several years, its last major tenant was Sibley’s, which closed in 1989.

Before then it was home to Keith’s Theater, described when it opened in 1920 as "the New Million Dollar Temple of Vaudeville."

The founders of the B.F. Keith’s vaudeville theater chain called it "the most beautiful theater in America" and an article in the Herald-Journal in 1994 described it as "elegant, with its marble pillars, rich with its hangings and broad staircase, beckoning to the expensive loge, calling to the cheap seats in the balcony."

Through the middle of the 20th century it, and the other classic theaters in downtown, brought people downtown for entertainment, first Vaudeville shows then silent movies and "talkies," before radio, TV, and suburban mall movie theaters "stole awed audiences from the grandeur."
