Welcome to Forgiveness Day!

Forgiveness Day is observed on June 26, 2017. The day is easily confused with International Forgiveness Day and Global Forgiveness Day in August. However, certainly any day that reminds people to forgive makes the world a more peaceful place. To join in Forgiveness Day's activities it is recommended to truly forgive someone.

Troubles and disputes should be ended on Forgiveness Day and people should get along with each other again. It would be a nice idea to call somebody, whom you have not spoken to in a while because you were too angry. Forgiving is a relieving process and not only on Forgiveness Day everyone should do that from time to time. This text has been taken from www.cute-calendar.com

Syracuse Orange Basketball: Why Andrew White III can make the Cleveland Cavaliers | isportsweb (isportsweb.com; Carpenter)

Andrew White III had a fantastic year after transferring to Syracuse University for his final year of NCAA eligibility. Before Syracuse, White III spent time at the University of Kansas and the University of Nebraska. White III led Syracuse in scoring, and set the school record for 3-pointers in a season while shooting 40% from deep.

White III was seen as a potential second-round pick in the 2017 NBA draft, but draft day came and went without White III not hearing his name called. Shortly after White III signed to a summer league contract to play for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Vegas Summer League. White will be on a team with Kay Felder and Edy Tavares who played with the Cavaliers last year.

White III brings an incredible ability to knock down the deep ball, and ball handling from a 6’6” guard. White III is an exact opposite of Kay Felder, who is a short 5’9” slasher. White III size and shooting ability fits the way the game is going, and is exactly what the Cavaliers need to compete with Stephen Curry’s Warriors.

White III will be competing for a spot on the Cavaliers bench with veterans Deron Williams, JR Smith, Dahntay Jones, Iman Shumpert, and Kay Felder. Dahntay Jones only played one game in the regular season, so he does not plan to be player in the Cavaliers future plans. Deron Williams is a former all star who seems to be on his way out of the league and will most likely not be on the team next year also. JR Smith started at shooting guard last year and is a very streaky shooter that fits well with LeBron James’ slash and pass ability. Iman Shumpert is the typical 3 and D style wing off the bench. Kay Felder is a young, short slasher of a point guard.

After 2017 NBA Draft, where does Syracuse rank among most consistent NBA pipelines? (PS; AP)

13. Purdue
At No. 26 overall, Purdue post player Caleb Swanigan became the highest-picked Boilermaker since Glenn Robinson went No. 1 overall in 1994. He is Purdue's first first-round pick since JaJuan Johnson in 2011.

Swanigan's selection made it two consecutive years for Purdue with a player selected, both of them post players. He joins, A.J. Hammons, who was taken No. 46 last year. Despite being a second-round pick, Hammons played 22 NBA games last season with Dallas.

These rankings are based on the number of consecutive years with at least one draft pick, followed by success generating first-round picks and lottery picks.

Projecting The 2018 Draft (dukebasketballreport.com; King)

The ACC just completed the most successful draft night in NCAA history – 10 first-round draft picks – two more than the old conference record of eight – plus the first two players taken in the second round.

But now that the 2017 draft is over, it’s time to look ahead of 2018.

Okay, that’s a joke – it’s way too early to start projecting next June’s draft. Players will flop … other players will rise out of obscurity. Had we done this a year ago, no way that John Collins or Luke Kennard or Donovan Mitchell would have been ranked as high as they were indeed picked. And Grayson Allen, Dwayne Bacon, Jaron Blossomgame and even Marques Bolden would have been projected as first round picks.

So take what follows with a grain of salt. It’s fun to look ahead and such a look does provide an interesting preview of the 2018 ACC season, but let’s not take these projections too seriously.

How many first round picks will the ACC manage next year? Start with five guys who SHOULD be first-round picks in 2018:

1. Grayson Allen, Duke: A volatile pick, but if the Duke senior approaches his sophomore performance – and stays out of trouble on the court – he’s an almost certain first rounder. He has the size and the athleticism to be an NBA wing guard and in 2016 he was one of the most efficient scorers in the country.

2. Bonzie Colson, Notre Dame: Okay, a bit of a wild card as an undersized power forward. But his ability to shoot the 3 and to rebound at a high level ought to earn him a first-round spot.

3. Trevon Duval, Duke: Top 10 rookies are a good risk. In the last five years 43 of 50 top 10 RSCI picks have been one-and-done (86 percent). Last year, it was nine of 10 as only No. 10 Todd Bridges returned for his sophomore season. Duval, No 4 in the RSCI, is very likely to go pro.

4. Wendell Carter, Duke: No. 6 in the final RSCI, which makes him a likely OAD.

That’s four likely first round picks in 2018. Put a gun to my head and I’d guess three of the four are picked that high. One of the five – don’t ask me to guess which of them -- will likely have problems (either injury or performance) – and not make the top 30 in the NBA draft.
