Blackout Wednesday, sometimes referred to as Drinksgiving, takes place the night before Thanksgiving Day, and in some parts of the United States is one of the biggest drinking and party nights of the year. Many college students come back to their hometown for Thanksgiving, and go to bars the night before to meet their friends whom they haven't seen while away at school. Many bars mark the occasion by having promotions and drink specials as well. Thanksgiving is usually a low stress holiday for college aged kids, where gifts don't need to be purchased, and older family members do the preparing of meals. This leaves college aged kids with more expendable cash, and the luxury of eating a big meal the day after drinking without having to prepare it.

Syracuse basketball vs. Toledo: 10 things to watch for (PS; Waters)
The Syracuse Orange men's basketball team will host the Toledo Rockets on Wednesday at the Carrier Dome. Game time is 7 p.m.
Both teams come into this game undefeated. Syracuse is 4-0 while Toledo is off to a 3-0 start. The teams have one common opponent. Syracuse throttled Oakland 74-50 on Monday, while the Rockets beat Oakland 87-74 on Saturday.
Toledo is coming off a 17-17 record from last season. The Rockets went 9-9 in the Mid-American Conference and are a threat to win the MAC's West Division this year.

Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse University is offering discounted tickets at Destiny USA ahead of the Thanksgiving weekend.
Fans can purchase men's basketball season tickets for $100 (limited to first 500 orders), 2018 football season tickets for $100, $25 women's basketball season tickets and $5 tickets to Saturday's football game against Boston College.
The catch?
The deal is only good for a five-hour stretch from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Thanksgiving (Thursday) night.

Through the early part of this college basketball season, you could make the argument that the Syracuse University men’s basketball team has improved along with the
quality of its opponents. And that’s a good thing, because the schedule is about to get a lot tougher.
The Orange opened this season with wins over Cornell, Iona, Texas Southern and Oakland. Cornell is a middle-of-the-pack Ivy League team, Iona (Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) and Texas Southern (Southwestern Athletic Conference) are mid-majors that made the 2017 NCAA Tournament, and Oakland was the preseason favorite to win the Horizon League.
And on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 7 p.m., at the Carrier Dome, the Orange will continue its march through the mid-majors when it plays a Toledo team from the Mid-American Conference that defeated Oakland 87-74 Nov. 18 as part of the round-robin Hoophall Miami Invitational that also includes Syracuse, Texas Southern and Kansas.
After Toledo, the Orange faces a three-game gauntlet against Maryland in the Big Ten-ACC Challenge Monday at the Dome, No. 4 Kansas Dec. 2 in the Hoophall Miami Invitational championship game in Miami, and Connecticut Dec. 5 in the Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
