All You Can Eat Chinese Buffet | John Pinette Comedy

Welcome to National Buffet Day!
Cast your New Year's weight loss resolution to the wind, it's National Buffet Day! Buffets present something for everyone, so there is no need to choose or make compromises about where to go when eating with a group. Food at buffets is located in a public area where it can be viewed and selected by diners, who can take whatever amount they want. Buffets operate at low profit margins. In general, it's a quantity-over-quality system where low-cost, filling foods are pushed. While buffets usually are self-serve, sometimes there are serving stations where employees carve meat or prepare dishes like crepes or omelets. The popularity of all-you-can-eat buffet restaurants in the United States has ebbed and flowed over decades, contingent on cultural tastes, diets, and changing economies. Buffet meals are not only served at restaurants but at large social events and in hotels.
SU News

The Syracuse University basketball team rings in 2025 under .500 with a 6-7 overall record and 0-2 mark in ACC play.
Head coach Adrian Autry shook up his lineup against Wake Forest with Lucas Taylor and Kyle Cuffe Jr. playing big minutes off the bench.
Will Autry have to shake up the lineup again for SU’s next game at Florida State? How are Orange teammates looking out for Chris Bell through a sustained scoring slump, and what can SU do to come out of the gate stronger?
Here is the best of what I overheard in the home locker room on Tuesday following an 81-71 loss to Wake Forest at the JMA Wireless Dome on New Year’s Eve.
Adrian Autry
On if he was sending Chris Bell and Elijah Moore a message by playing Lucas Taylor and Kyle Cuffe Jr. longer:“No, I’m trying to win. OK? At the end of the day, there’s no messages to being sent. I’m trying to win and I’ve got decisions to make.’’
On if there is a lineup change brewing ahead of SU’s game at Florida State on Saturday:
“I have no idea. We’ve just got to keep plugging away. I’ve got to figure this thing out. We have to figure this thing out. We can’t continually keep starting and digging ourselves holes.’’
On Chris Bell’s struggles:
“It’s tough to go through a stretch like this. You try to get guys going and it’s very tough because we’re not winning. You try different things. All he can do is keep his head down and keep fighting and battling. I know when I was a player, if you focus on something else, you try to make contributions in other ways. That’s what I need him to do and I think that will help him.”

Syracuse Basketball: With J.J. Starling out, I have no idea what SU's identity is (itlh; Adler)
When junior guard J.J. Starling, the team's leading scorer at nearly 20 points per game, does return from his injury, I have every confidence that it will provide a boost to Syracuse basketball.
But will it be enough for the Orange to have a successful 2024-25 season? I'm not so sure, and I think J.J. is a fabulous player.
To be fair, what will constitute a successful 2024-25 for the 'Cuse might differ from fan to fan, although Syracuse basketball players and coaches, ahead of the current term, certainly wanted to return to the annual NCAA Tournament following a three-year absence.
If I'm assessing things honestly, 13 contests into 2024-25, I don't envision the Orange evolving into a contender for an invite to the 2025 Big Dance, and that makes me sad. And frustrated. And irritated. And sad.
What exactly is the identify of the Syracuse basketball 2024-25 roster?
Before this season commenced, I assumed that the 'Cuse might experience some growing pains. After all, while the Syracuse basketball roster does include a lot of veteran guys, it also contains four college transfers and three incoming freshmen.

Kiyan's mom, La La Anthony, commented on the post:

It wasn't just La La Anthony who chimed in. Gilbert Arenas, the former NBA All-Star point guard, also commented:

Among all the pictures and videos, the first image of Anthony stands out, showcasing him hyping the crowd. The caption, posted by Syracuse’s official Instagram page, reads:
Standing at 6-foot-5, Kiyan is among the top-rated shooting guards in the country and has committed to Syracuse over offers from Auburn and USC. His decision came on Nov. 15 in a heartfelt announcement, featuring a photoshoot with his parents, Carmelo and La La Anthony."Welcome home"
New talent Kiyan Anthony Syracuse’s future hinges
Competing for Long Island Lutheran in New York and within Nike’s EYBL circuit, Kiyan Anthony has shown impressive consistency in his performances. Although Syracuse lost to Wake Forest 81-71, Kiyan's presence was felt by the fans.Syracuse currently boasts the No. 8 recruiting class for 2025, according to 247Sports, with Kiyan headlining the group. Joining him are IMG Academy’s Sadiq Whit Jr., Australian combo guard Luke Fennell and Wisconsin forward Aaron Womack.
In Oct. 2024, Kiyan delivered a stellar performance during the ACES Hustle & Heart Classic, scoring 26 points with his offensive prowess. At Long Island Lutheran, he plays alongside other top prospects, including Kayden Mingo, a Penn State signee, and Nigel James, who has committed to Marquette.
As Syracuse basketball navigates a challenging season with a 6-7 record and a 0-2 start in ACC play, the arrival of Kiyan Anthony and his fellow recruits offers hope for a turnaround. Despite these challenges, Long Island Lutheran continues to showcase its talent.

Fizz Report Card: Syracuse Struggles Early in 81-71 Loss to Wake Forest (orangefizz.net; Daley)
Syracuse has struggled to open games all season, so it was no surprise to see the Orange fall behind early, with Wake Forest racing out to an early 17-2 lead in the first four minutes.
And yet, this game was winnable. Syracuse held a one-point lead with 11 minutes to go after trailing the entire first half, but the same mistakes that have plagued the Orange all season hampered them down the stretch.
Syracuse has now lost three of their last four games, some more ugly than others, and are now below .500 at 5-6 heading into ACC play.
Syracuse in the First Four Minutes: D
Too many times this season, Syracuse has put itself in an early hole. It was more of the same against Wake Forest, as the Demon Deacons scored at will in the paint in the game’s first four minutes, throwing down two alley-oops for four of their first eight points. The Orange didn’t have an answer on the other end and trailed 17-2 before settling into the game, and that large deficit is likely why they trailed for the entire first half despite a marked improvement after the brutal start. Syracuse picked up its defensive effort and found more consistency on offense to trail by just two heading into halftime, which is why this grade isn’t a D. Still, it would have been nice to see that quality of play over the entire first half. With matchups against tougher ACC rivals like Florida State ahead, the Orange can’t afford to come out of the gates looking so sluggish.

Chris Bell has been a MASSIVE DISAPPOINTMENT for Syracuse Basketball | Syracuse Orange Podcast (youtube; podcast; Locked on Syracuse)
Syracuse Orange Basketball lost to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons 81-71 in the JMA Wireless Dome yesterday. Syracuse Head Coach Adrian Autry should be really concerned about the current state of the team, especially without JJ Starling. The Orange got 46 combined points from Jaquan Carlos, Lucas Taylor, and Kyle Cuffe, yet still lost by double-digits. Forward Chris Bell played a season low nine minutes in the loss, and is in the midst of arguably his worst stretch at Syracuse. The Orange are off to their worst start heading into the new year since before Jim Boeheim was the coach.
Jackson Holzer doesn't love Syracuse's chances to turn the season around on this edition of the Locked On Syracuse Podcast.

He paced the Siena sideline, his emotions riding the tide of good plays and bad plays, the frantic flow of fortunate bounces and frustrating mistakes.
He worked the officials, pleading his case when a call went Cornell’s way. He called a timeout after one turnover by his point guard, held Justice Shoats by the shoulders and talked to him before turning his attention to the rest of his team. He held up his hands in 3-point celebration when one of his guys made one. He hung his head after a timeout, when the Saints ran a perfect play but the shooter missed an open 3 on the wing.
Gerry McNamara lived and died with each play here, demonstrating the depth of his big competitive heart in what would become a signature win of his early head coaching career.
The Saints beat Cornell 83-77.
“It’s torture, you know?,” he said afterward. “But us hoop junkies, we love the torture. That’s what it’s about.”
For McNamara it’s been about creating his own identity as a head coach after years on the Syracuse sideline as an assistant. It’s about imprinting his personal passion on a program sorely in need of life after last year’s 4-28 season. It’s about convincing a group of players to listen, to believe, to work, to lay it all on the basketball court the same way he did as a Syracuse player.
