NBA Won't Suspend Mike Dunleavy for Punching MCW (PS; Domin)

The NBA announced Saturday that it will not suspend Mike Dunleavy for his blow to Michael Carter-Williams' head in Game 6 of the first round in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Carter-Williams had to briefly leave the game, a 120-66 rout by the Bulls. The former Syracuse point guard said after that game that "my teeth were a little messed up" and that "people take cheap shots, and you've got to go along with it."

Dunleavy was not called for a foul, but the NBA now upgraded it to a flagrant-one foul.

"I'm not surprised," Dunleavy told the Chicago Tribune about the ruling. "I saw the replay. There was some contact above the neck. Those situations, that's what it is nowadays."

Mahoney and DeFrancisco Climb, Miner Slips in Latest Albany 100 Power List (PS.; Weaver)

Onondaga County Executive Joanie Mahoney, a Republican who has twice endorsed Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo, rose 37 points, from No. 99 last year to No. 62 this year on City & State's annual ranking of power players in Albany.

Mayor Stephanie Miner fell to No. 83 -- down 27 slots -- in the listing.

Miner and Mahoney are among the few Upstate leaders on the list. Miner is the only Upstate mayor to make the cut. The only other mayor is New York City's Bill de Blasio.

Mahoney is the sole county executive in the power broker rankings, a clear sign of her rising influence with Cuomo (who remains at No. 1).

In the last year, Cuomo has tapped Mahoney to chair the board of the troubled New York State Thruway Authority and championed her idea to invest $50 million in the New York State Fair.

"Mahoney has served on various commissions and panels for Cuomo, and this year was named chairwoman of the state Thruway Authority as the embattled agency deals with budget shortfalls and an attorney general probe into possible criminal activity," City & State argues. "Cuomo's trust in her to handle the mess is a sign of the influence she can wield in the administration."

Miner has drawn high-profile attention in her advocacy of Upstate infrastructure needs, but her influence in Albany has suffered since stepping down as co-chair of the state Democratic Party, according to City & State.

'Critical Fire Weather Conditions' Possible in Central New York (PS; O'Toole)

The National Weather Service has issued a fire weather watchMonday afternoon and evening for all of Central New York.

A fire weather watch means that "critical fire weather conditions are possible," the weather service said.

"Any fires that develop could spread rapidly," the weather service said. "Outdoor burning is not recommended."

Your forecast

Well whoop de damn do. Look who's starting a kids basketball league. Good job helping Detroit kids, DC!
DC has always tried to look out for his hometown. It's a big reason why he declared bankruptcy a few years ago.

Yep I know - he's really done a lot to try to help Detroit. My comment was just an admittedly weak attempt to throw out a "whoop de damn" because that phrase just cracks me up.
