Welcome to Snowplow Mailbox Hockey Day!

Snowplow drivers often work long hours at all times of the day to keep streets safe for drivers. They keep the roads of cities and rural areas driveable, so that business can continue as usual. Because of all their hard work, snowplow drivers get to have a little fun today; they are allowed to see how many mailboxes they can knock over with their plows, and they are given "twenty extra points for boosting one into the next township." It is unclear how many points are given to snowplow drivers for just a normal mailbox takedown. The day was created by Thomas and Ruth Roy of Wellcat Holidays.

The lasting image of Adbul Adams’ time in an Oklahoma uniform will always be that run against Baylor, when Adams was backed up on the goal line, took a handoff, juked one defender, then cut upfield and into OU history.

Adams’ 99-yard touchdown run was the longest in Oklahoma history. It was also his first and last touchdown run as a Sooner.

As of Monday afternoon, Adams is now a member of the Syracuse football program. The news came in the form of an official release from Syracuse and coach Dino Babers.

Adams is already enrolled at Syracuse and will go through spring drills, per the release. Adams will sit out the 2018 season and become eligible in 2019. Syracuse went 4-8 last season, and its leading rusher was quarterback Eric Dungey.

Abdul Adams has transferred to Syracuse (crimsonandcreammachine.com; Shields)

After an up-and-down sophomore campaign, former Oklahoma Sooners running back Abdul Adams has transferred to Syracuse, where he is enrolled in classes.

Adams rushed for 542 yards and a touchdown on 59 attempts as a sophomore in 2017. The Landover, MD native also added five receptions for 80 yards and a TD last season. Adams earned the start in Oklahoma’s first game, but he was never able to consistently hold the position due to concerns with ball security. After being surpassed by Rodney Anderson and Trey Sermon, this move definitely makes sense for Adams.

Ex-Syracuse football RB signee Jo-El Shaw commits to Kent State, Sean Lewis (PS; Bailey)

Former Syracuse football running back signee Jo-El Shaw committed to Kent State on Saturday, he announced on Twitter.

Shaw, who didn't qualify in 2016 and was offered again by SU last summer, is now pledged to play for former Orange co-offensive coordinator Sean Lewis.

The 6-foot-1, 235-pound rising junior spent the last two years at Lackawanna Community College in Scranton, Pa., after starring at Woodland Hills High School in Pittsburgh. Shaw was re-offered by the Orange in late May after a yearlong break in communication, but SU has seemingly prioritized other targets like weekend visitor Mychale Salahuddin.

Syracuse also has two running backs committed this cycle in Jawhar Jordan and Akeem Dixon.

USF adds another ACC opponent to football schedule (brandenton.com; Garbett)

For the second time in less than a week, the University of South Florida announced a home-and-home football series with an Atlantic Coast Conference team.

On Monday, USF said it will play North Carolina State in 2021 in Raleigh, with the Wolfpack heading to Tampa in 2024.

The news came four days after USF announced a three-game series with former conference rival Louisville, which now calls the ACC home. The Bulls and Cardinals will play in Louisville in 2022 and 2026, and in Tampa in 2024.

Five Power 5 storylines to debate this offseason (si.com; Rapaport)

After the release of the ACC’s schedule on Wednesday, all 64 Power 5 teams now know their exact slate of games for the 2018 season. There are multiple checkpoints to cross between now and Aug. 25, when a trio of contests mark the official start of the year. National Signing Day is one, as is spring football. But next season is slowly but surely beginning to take shape, as are the storylines that will dominate public discourse when fall does finally roll around. Here’s one narrative from each Power 5 conference for fans to ponder over the game-barren months ahead.

ACC: CAN THE COASTAL DIVISION END YEARS OF INFERIORITY?
The ACC has been won by either Florida State or Clemson, both of which play in the Atlantic Division, each of the past seven years. The disparity between the Atlantic and Coastal Divisions doesn’t just exist at the top of the standings—six of the seven teams in the Atlantic finished 2017 with a winning record, compared to just three in the Coastal. But the top is where the difference in quality has been most consistently evident, year after year.

NCSU, BYU agree to meet in football for the first time. Here’s when they’ll play. (newsobserver.com; Wiseman)

N.C. State and Brigham Young have agreed to meet in football for the first time, as part of a series of new non-conference games the Wolfpack announced on Monday.

N.C. State will play Brigham Young in Raleigh in 2024, and the Wolfpack will make its first trip to Provo, Utah, in 2030.

Since the ACC counts Brigham Young as a power five opponent for football scheduling purposes, N.C. State now has met the league’s requirement to play a power five non-conference game each season through 2031. Teams included are West Virginia (2018, 2019), Mississippi State (2020, 2021), Texas Tech (2022, 2027), Brigham Young (2024, 2030), Notre Dame (2023, 2025, 2029, 2031) and Vanderbilt (2026, 2028).

The Wolfpack also has contracts to play non-conference games with South Florida and Louisiana Tech in future seasons.
