NC State hasn’t won a major ACC title in 26 years. Impressive! (sbnation.com; Moriarty)

The NC State Wolfpack’s last chance for an ACC title for the 2017-18 season was in the hands of the baseball team over the weekend against the Florida State Seminoles. Unfortunately the team lost, 5-2, on Friday, eliminating them from the ACC tournament and costing them a shot at an ACC title the program hasn’t won since 1992.

Shortly after the loss, a UNC fan tweeted out an eye-opening statistic about NC State’s rough recent history in claiming ACC titles, including regular-season or title tournament ones:

It's official: for the 26th consecutive year, NC State has failed to win so much as a share of a division title, regular season ACC title, or ACC tournament title in football, men's & women's basketball, and baseball. One of the most amazing streaks in college sports.

Joe Giglio of the News & Observer further investigated and laid out Meadows’ tweet, and he’s right — everyone currently in the ACC (including former Big East members like Boston College, Louisville, Miami, and Syracuse) has either won an ACC title or a share of one. We double checked a good bit of numbers below:

Clemson Football: 2018 Tigers Preview and Prediction (athlonsports.com; Staff)

Clemson has made a habit of getting into the College Football Playoff and those expectations haven’t changed for 2018. Dabo Swinney has built one of the nation’s most talented and consistent programs, allowing Clemson to reload instead of rebuild even though it’s replacing seven starters on both sides of the ball. There’s some uncertainty at quarterback but no lack of talented options, a familiar theme throughout this roster. The defense is in much better shape, headlined by an NFL-caliber front. Even with a few question marks, Swinney's team has earned its status as not only the team to beat in the ACC but also one of the elite programs in the nation.

Work to begin soon on War Memorial suites; Syracuse Crunch releases sneak peek (PS; Kramer)

New suites at the War Memorial are about to become a reality.

The Syracuse Crunch released on Tuesday an artist's rendering of what the six suites will look like (subject to slight change). Construction on the suites is expected to begin in June.

The Crunch has already announced the first company to lease a suite, Bankers Healthcare Group. That deal goes through 2022-23, although the financial details were not released.

The suites can be used for multiple events at the arena. The two larger ones will hold about 20-22 fans apiece each and four smaller ones can hold about 17-18 each.

The suites are part of an arena overall that is also expected to include a new scoreboard, renovated bathrooms and improved concession areas. Most of the work is expected to be finished for a Thomas Rhett concert on Sept. 21. All of it will be done in time for the first Crunch game in October.
