ACC falling apart will cause B1G and SEC to poach ACC

The NCAA tournament results show that big football money has boosted both B1G and SEC basketball to the P2 in basketball, too. Most ACC schools will try to get admitted to either SEC or B1G. Does Syracuse have a plan in place when ACC is now the most vulnerable? Only Duke is in Sweet 16. Most schools have to feel terrified and want to leave for SEC or B1G. Besides Miami, UNC, Clemson and Florida State, there are only two or four spots available. The timing is horrible for us. I think in two or three years, SU could go back to the better position. But now we are in rocky bottom.

Unfortunately we’re probably one of the few that will get left out. Small private school in the northeast we don’t fit in with the massive state schools and our sports brands are severely damaged from what they were 30 years ago.

Dr Pepper and Allstate pay a ton of money to run commercials on ESPN.

ESPN wants as many eyeballs as possible watching. Higher ratings = higher ad revenues. Higher ad revenues = higher TV contracts.

1/4 of all the eyeballs in the US live in the Northeast.

Which is why Northeast football schools will always have a seat at the table.
