It's been translated into at least two dozen languages, and Guinness World Records once called it the most recognizable song in English. Chances are you know it by heart and it has been sung to you as well. What is it? It's "Happy Birthday to You," of course! Although today is commonly celebrated as the anniversary of the song's publication, it likely wasn't published on today's date. Rather, today is the birthday of the woman who wrote the song's melody, and that is the real reason why today is "Happy Birthday to You" Day.

Syracuse Football: 2018 DB DuWayne Johnson adds ‘elite instincts’ (itlh.com; Carey)
No this isn’t ‘The Rock’ but he might as well be. Here’s why DuWayne Johnson is a HUGE pickup for the Syracuse football squad in 2018.
DuWayne Johnson, a 2018 cornerback will enroll at Syracuse University this fall, and will be eligible immediately. After committing to Virginia Tech out of high school in Washington, D.C., Johnson didn’t feel it was the right fit and played most recently at Arizona Western Community College.
The Orange beat out offers from the likes of Arkansas, Iowa State, Missouri, and Washington State for Johnson’s services. At 6-foot 2 and 175-pounds, Johnson has very good size for a cornerback in the ACC.
Johnson is expected to compete for playing time right away, and will strengthen a Syracuse secondary that lost Devin M. Butler and Jordan Martin to graduation. Butler was the nickel back last season after coming over from Notre Dame.
Originally a member of the class of 2015, Johnson was a three star prospect, and ranked the 66th best corner in his class by 247sports. He had offers from Georgia, Miami, and Michigan State among others.

Preview 2018: CFN All-ACC Team & Top 30 Players (cfn.com; staff)
2018 PRESEASON CFN ACC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
RB AJ Dillon, Soph. Boston College
The ACC might be mostly about the defense this season, but the offensive stars will be there with Florida State RB Cam Akers, NC State QB Ryan Finley, and either Trevor Lawrence or Kelly Bryant under center at Clemson. But it’s the 6-0, 245-pound Dillon who’ll be the workhorse of the conference season.
It’s a wee bit of a stretch to say he turned around the Boston College program as a freshman, but … he turned around the Boston College program, at least after its rough first half. By the end of the year, he ended up with 300 carries turning into a 100-yard machine. One of the league’s toughest runners, he’ll have to do it all again.
2018 PRESEASON CFN ACC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
DT Dexter Lawrence, Jr. Clemson
Or Christian Wilkins, or Clelin Ferrell, or Austin Bryant. Take anyone on the great Clemson defensive front, and you’ve probably got the best defensive player in the ACC, But it’s the freakish 6-4, 340-pound Lawrence who’ll be the anchor the front four works around.
He can get into the backfield – turning in 6.5 sacks and 62 stops in his freshman season, and making 34 stops last year – or he can be a double-team rock on the inside so everyone else can shine. He’s the total package for an NFL defensive tackle, but Clemson still has him.
2018 Preseason CFN All-ACC Offense
QB – Ryan Finley, Sr. NC State
RB – Cam Akers, Soph. Florida State

Syracuse Orange
Offense: Devin Butler, WR
In head coach Dino Babers’ system, a receiver will put up big numbers and this year it may be Butler. Steve Ishmael and Ervin Phillips combined for 194 catches, 2,251 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2017. That is production that needs to come from other sources. Butler did catch 33 passes of his own, but averaged just 9.9 yards per reception with a single touchdown.
Defense: Ryan Guthrie, LB
Similar to the receiver position, linebacker took a big hit with the departures of Zaire Franklin and Parris Bennett. Guthrie saw some action last season after transferring in from Ellsworth (Iowa) Community College. He’ll enter camp as a starter at middle linebacker.
