State takes the Atlantic Division with a win and a Wake loss. If both lose, Clemson gets to the ACC championship for a seventh straight season. It was actually hard to find, but when we did find it, we said right away, ‘Man, if we can’t fill this little place, we shouldn’t be in business.’” This rectangular building that’s now blanketed in vines really is hard to find. It’s a hidden gem that’s truly hidden. It’s in the middle of one of Syracuse’s first suburban neighborhoods, just off East Seneca Turnpike. The Southwood “two-teacher school” was built in 1937 by architect Fred O’Connor, who designed the New York Central passenger station on Erie Boulevard. The school closed in the late 1960s, and the late Sam Cortese turned it into a custom drapery shop, Decor Designs. When he moved his business three blocks around the corner, it became Norma’s Hair salon. The building, which is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, sat vacant when Norma moved her salon to Manlius.
