New Syracuse Indoor Practice Facility to be Call the Ensley Athletic Center Via 'Multi-Million Dollar' Gift (PS; Mink)
Syracuse University's new $14 million indoor practice facilityhas a name thanks to a multi-million dollar donation by a former three-sport athlete at the university.
The Ensley Athletic Center is named after Cliff Ensley, a three-sport letterman in football, lacrosse and wrestling and the CEO of Leisure Merchandising Corporation in New Jersey.
"I hope the immediate reaction the next few years inspires some real good athletes from around the country to want to come here to play for this program," Ensley said.
"You build something, looking forward this is going to bring a lot of excitement to Syracuse University athletics. Our football program has needed this for 20 years. This is something that is most necessary for them."
The university held a 30-minute news conference Wednesday afternoon inside the building to announce the naming rights. Giving remarks were Chancellor Kent Syverud, athletic director Daryl Gross, Board of Trustees chairman Richard Thompson, coaches Gary Gait, John Desko and Scott Shafer and Ensley.

Geneva to be Featured on HGTV's 'House Hunters' Show Thursday Night (PS; Cazentre)
Thursday's new episode of HGTV's "House Hunters" reality show will feature one couple, several homes and one winery in and around this Finger Lakes town.
The episode is called "Couple Needs Space to Raise Twins in Upstate New York." It airs at 10 p.m. Thursday on HGTV.
It follows Jessica and John Balduzzi as they tour three houses in Geneva and nearby areas in search of a new home for their growing family.
Along the way, the couple also make a stop at Fox Run Vineyards on Seneca Lake south of Geneva.
Those scenes, filmed last June, show the Balduzzis doing a wine tasting with Fox Run co-owner Ruth Osborn and sitting on a porch overlooking the vineyards while browsing through a tablet showing the homes they were considering, according to Fox Run's Marisa Indelicato.
