Syracuse, N.Y. -- Dr. Irving Raphael, a fixture at Syracuse University football and basketball games for 27 years, says he and his son could not continue caring for SU athletes had they not joined a large orthopedic practice.
Raphael and his son, Dr. Brad Raphael, both orthopedic surgeons, joined Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists, a group of 30 doctors, in December. The move was prompted in part by SU's decision last spring to have a big multi-specialty physician group provide orthopedic care to its athletes instead of relying solely on the father-and-son team...
