Welcome to National Hamburger Day/National Milk Chocolate Day!
Editor's Note: there are some days that are real stinkers, like yesterday, which was Bagpipe Appreciation Day, Cross Atlantic Communication Day, National Barbie-in-a-Blender Day, Take Your Pants for a Walk Day, National Scotch Day and Walk on Stilts Day. And then there are special days, like today, which is both National Hamburger Day and National Milk Chocolate Day. It is my fondest wish, okay not my very fondest, but it is my fond wish, that the powers-that-be work out a trade so that National Scotch Day and National Milk Chocolate Day are switched, so we as a nation never again have to choose between honoring hamburgers or milk chocolate. I say honor both. It will make for a grand day.
One other thing...according to my research, there is another national hamburger day on May 28th. May is also National Hamburger Month. I am a big fan of hamburgers but do we really need 2 national holidays to celebrate them?

How Close Was Tim Lester to Installing His Offense at Midseason of Last Year? (PS; Bailey)
Joe Adam remembers his phone ringing late Saturday night on Oct. 5, 2014.
It was Tim Lester, who had just been promoted from Syracuse quarterbacks coach to offensive coordinator less than 24 hours after the Orange's 24-6 loss to Louisville.
Five games into a season that was already tipping toward disaster, there was no time to waste. Lester asked Adam to sit down and discuss ideas. They arrived at the office around 2 a.m., Adam remembers.
The big decision that needed to be made: should the offensive staff install Lester's system midway through the season or should they stick with McDonald's gun-read scheme for the remaining seven games?
"It was discussed," Adam said of attempting a rapid installation, "but we were at a point where we didn't feel like it would give our kids a chance. … I think maybe we had a 25 percent thought process, but when you look through experience and list all the things that need to be changed, it was just too much information for the kids.
"And if you're going to do something worthwhile, you want to do it right."
At the top of that to-do list were plays, verbiage and cadences, but this was a team that had just lost its starting quarterback, Terrel Hunt, for the season due to a fractured fibula. The three freshmen behind him already had to deal with playing their first college snaps, nonetheless learning a whole new offense on the fly.
Injury woes that were starting to creep up on the offensive line and on the perimeter didn't make the gamble any more enticing.
Lester and his staff decided that the team had a better chance of winning if it attempted to wade through its current slate of challenges without inputting his system.
"It's wasn't doable," Adam said. "We wanted to do it right and we knew that we were going to take some lumps."

Filling in with ACC Fans (shakinthesouthland.com; Goldin)
Some of you may get the opportunity to experience game day at a school you've never been to this season, so here is your guide to blending in around the ACC.
*This article is intended to be funny and is based off of stereotypes that may or may not be true.*
Boston College: Wear one of those yellow "Eagles Superfan" t-shirts they give to all of the students. Pair it with jeans, the hat of a Boston pro sports teams, and probably some type of coat or sweatshirt because it gets cold. Generally, show no interest in BC sports like the entire city of Boston. Talk about the next day's Patriots game and proceed to check your fantasy football updates. My assumption is BC tailgating involves a lot of chowder and Sam Adams, and I'd be sadly disappointed to find out otherwise.
Clemson: You thought we'd be exempt from this article? WRONG! Wear as much orange as humanly possible. Seriously, if you have to ask yourself "do I have enough orange on?" then no, you do not have enough orange on. If you don't want to wear enough orange to be seen from space, wearing an orange polo and khaki shorts or pants is always a solid look that tends to be popular among fans of all ages and backgrounds.
As for drinks? If you're a student, there is one answer: BUSCH LIGHT. Typically you can find cases (24 packs for those who aren't aware) from $9.99-$13.99, so don't be shocked to see students loading up the bed of their truck with cases from BI-LO during the season. If you don't like Busch Light, well then that's your problem. Another popular beer is the special edition orange cans of Bud Light, because if you're selling something in Clemson, you'll sell three times as much if you offer it in orange. When talking to other fans, discussing Danny Ford, hunting, fishing, and how great Deshaun Watson is should have you fitting in very quickly. And, when in doubt, start the Cadence Count.

Syracuse: You'll need some cold weather gear for tailgating, but be sure to dress in layers because the Carrier Dome is SO SWELTERING HOT!!! Jingle your keys, curse, and return to looking forward to basketball season.
Virginia: Dress like the Vineyard Vines whale threw up on you. This is a social event more than anything, so look your best. Drink wine coolers, because Zima has been discontinued. Discuss Thomas Jefferson. Actually, discuss your admiration for Thomas Jefferson. Also feel free to leave the game early or not even go. No one cares.
