Anyone else feel like Shafer is talking like he's expecting a loss? I mean, don't blame him but you have to like when a coach is expecting a win. Maybe he would talk that way with Dungey or Hunt in there.

Didn't get that impression at all. I think he's trying to deflect pressure from his guys. Listen to them: "just another team" "putting their pants on the same way" etc. Shafer: best RB since Earl Campbell, etc.

i dont think going all rah rah 3 days out is going to help the team. they need to play at an emotional level but you cant sustain that for 3 days and if he tried to energize the PC it wouldnt have helped him either. this needs to build and he can have confidence they have a small shot but you cant come out all cocky or you are just helping LSU and taking away from your own energy. its much more important how he talks about 11:30 on Sat.
