At the end of the half, with 7 seconds left, why not throw it into end zone/down field.
Incomplete- ok
Competition and no time left - ok
TD good
PI - good
INT - okay, as long as no TD.

My guess is the possibility of a quick pass ruch resulting in a sack or quick incompletion could result in potential points for NCSt. While not highly likely I think they didn't want to risk it. JMO

I don't think we have good enough pass protection for a last second hail mary type play.

Risk outweighs the reward, if NC state gets a quick hurry resulting in a sack or incompletion in under 7 seconds they get a chance to get free points. Virtually no play we can dial up to gain points out of that situation. Punt is the right decision even as shaky as our punt team has been

I would think you can trust McCord to just throw it away out of bounds.

Wouldn’t NC State have the same risk?

I appreciate the FB guru responses. I am glad FB coaches weren’t responsible for planning D-Day. It never would have gotten approved. Too much risk.
