Maybe...probably help if it is located near the train station that goes back to NJ for us staying by the stadium.
Hey Frozen, with the number of us staying at the LaQuinta not sure we can all mass migrate over to the City, any chance of you coming over are way to grab dinner and drinks in NJ?
EDIT: I don't necessarily mind going to Secaucus (which I believe is where the hotel is) but since it's literally a 10-min train ride, wouldn't everybody rather have dinner in Manhattan than NJ?
I have no issue going into Manhattan, only issue maybe that people are coming in at different times throughout the day and maybe easier for everyone to meet up somewhere close to the hotel versus the city. But I would have no problem either way, I am sure we will discuss it with Mark.
Cool. I understand that there are logistics to consider. I just think it'd be a sin to be that close to Manhattan and stay in NJ.
Ya I agree especially for those of us like myself who dont get into or really go to NYC much. Perhaps you could meet us over by the hotel for a drink or two in the mid afternoon and then we could all go over that night for more drinks and dinner in the City.
We were thinking of meeting up in Hoboken. Not really easy to get into Manhattan from Secaucus. SUBarney is more an expert on this than me, so hopefully he weighs in at some point.
Well, it's easy for me to say (because I will already be in Manhattan that day) but Secaucus to Manhattan is only ten minutes by NJ Transit train. I don't know how far it is from the hotel to the station, though. I'm sure we can work something out, either in NJ or NYC.
I looked at the map...the roads are friggin crazy around there. It looks like Secaucus Junction is like 2 miles away. I think we can stay on surface streets and park at the train station and hop over to Penn Station. The hotel is on the north side of 3 and we have to get over to the south side of 3 and drive to the parking lot. I think either midtown or Hoboken would work...isn't parking on Friday night in Hoboken going to suck too?
Everything will be at your doorstep in Hoboken. There's not much around Penn Station other than the same bars we often frequent during the BE tourney, etc. Just sayin.
I'll leave it to the NYC experts (I see pro and con to each)...Frozen can you get to Hoboken easily and back to Brooklyn without too much issue?I would suggest taking a taxi to Hoboken. It's about 20 minutes, I'm guessing. Otherwise, you'll need to take a 15-minute taxi ride to Secaucus Station, then catch a train into NY. I would never park in Hoboken. Fill up a taxi.

Good. No offense, Frozen. I vote for Hoboken. A lot of restaurants/bars in a close area. If we can get a number over the next few weeks, I can make reservations. No sweat.
Not really easy to get into Manhattan from Secaucus.
Who told you this?????
It's like the last stop on NJ Transit - for trains coming in from all directions - to NY Penn Station
In 9 minutes you can be in midtown Manhattan.
Anybody interested in getting dinner and/or beverages in Manhattan on Friday 9/7?
