For those coming to NYC/NJ for the USC game

I noticed you never suggested a cab into manhattan... Is that just too expensive or too time consuming. Me and my Friends want to go into the city from the Laquinta, but we're unsure of the best way. I lost the stay in manhattan vote.

Thank for your help.

I don't know about cab rates, but the Secaucus Taxi website might help. Their e-mail is reservations@secaucustaxi.com

Let's see..you want to go out for dinner and you are staying within spitting distance of the city with, arguably, the greatest set of diverse restaurants in the world and you decide to go to...Hoboken?

And poor Toga is soliciting vacation ideas from this crew...

Although I'm fine with going to my old stomping grounds of Hoboken, I agree with Forza's point.

If you're paying for dinner, Manhattan is fine. Just need to realize that once you hit Manhattan, it's either a long walk or another taxi ride.

Welcome to the Lincoln Tunnel.

So you wouldn't recommend it. Taxi to the train it is. As you can tell, I'm never in the city.
I would take the train in/out...the tunnel can suck and parking is $30 and up.
If you do some planning (prebuy parking and know where you are going) driving isn't a bad option but for most the train is the easiest. Secaucus Train Station is pretty close to the LaQuinta and charges $7 to park in the evening. Only about 50 million trains per hour going between Penn St and Secaucus.

I've stayed im Secaucus 3 times and had no problem getting into NYC by car or train. But having said that, there is also a lot of restaurants right near the hotel in a place called Harmon Meadows. Huge outdoor mall type place with dozens of restaurants. Sure it's not NYC fine dining but it is a football trip not a cultural visit. :D

There's a really solid steakhouse in Hoboken called Dino and Harry's. The owner is good friends with my uncle, I've been there a number of times. I know it's a favorite of Eli Manning as well.

That works for me too.
