Don't forget that the Garden will not be serving beer, so we'll have to compensate elsewhere.

Anybody who wants to get the festivities started early, I'll be at the Gingerman at 4pm.

It won't? It served beer last year at the double header.

The Pre- and Post-season NIT tournaments are different. The NIT is owned by the NCAA these days. They do not allow beer at their events.

I laugh at this seeming contradiction every year....the NCAA will prostitute itself in every way imaginable, but then won't sell beer at its events. They should sell beer, if for no other reason then to help fans forget the exorbitant ticket prices for NCAA events.

At the LAX final four two years ago (in Foxboro), the only place in the stadium that was serving beer was inside the official NCAA suite.

I am not making this up.

It's kind of like the contradiction the NCAA and SU both set off with regards to tickets. They hire police and security to keep scalpers away and/or hassle people, arrest the and confiscate tickets. Then they both turn around and use scalping agencies to sell tix through themselves. You can get to these scalpers right from the NCAA site. Don't know if they still do, but SU used to advertise stub hub also.
