JB seems to have a computer like brain when calculating time left and possessions. He has an analytical statistical type of genius he has imprinted with his basketball and tactical knowledge. He’s a huge history buff who is a voracious reader regarding military tactics and of course basketball. He somehow can morph what he reads and senses into intuitive philosophies that are unique resulting in consistent winning seasons. It’s funny how he has the rep of just rolling the ball out and letting them play but there’s always an underlying defensive and even offensive tactic that he adjusts dependent on the variables he encounters. No way you really can be stubborn and inflexible and still have the consistent success over his 40+ years of coaching with all the variables he’s encountered through the decades. I bet he’d be great at those ‘if that, then what’ brain teaser type puzzles.
