Just one man's opinion, but I think fan internet sites are generally going to appear negative, especially after any loss. That's why I've never believed anyone saying that it's harming OUR program. If it's harming us, then it's harming everyone else equally.
But in this particular situation, Cohen aside (because the PS is now a blog), it just doesn't seem like a good idea for the program's former players to start asking questions already. You do want to sell the Syracuse football family atmosphere to recruits. You're joining something special. But to have former players start questioning the offense just two games into the year? Just doesn't seem all that united to me. Especially coming from 2 defensive players after the defense was just ripped apart for 400 yards and 34 points by halftime. I think it looks bad.
At the end of the day, probably not a big deal. Like I said yesterday, it's not exactly coming from the who's who of SU football alumni. Plenty of people would probably need above average database skills to connect them to the program.
Up until now, my only issue with Cohen has been the unsubstantiated AJ Long position switch rumor. When I stop and remind myself that the PS is just another fan site, I can't take issue with him. When he tries to pass himself off as a journalist, well, that's a little different. He's not, at least in the way I'd like to still think of them.
