Horrible, I am bummed by the debacle in Miami but at least I never cheered for that POS, Eric Cobb. If guilty I hope they light him up.

Im not sure he is a POS? Mental illness is a MF. Ive learned not to judge!
I can say with pretty much certainty that not many people knöw the details here.
All people are at different moments in their life, also at different times. Each individual person was raised in 1 way, so all individual people were raised differently than all others.
The human brain is so complex.
Good, bad, horrible, great, amazing and maybe just OK can be perceived differently by everyone.
I guarantee Mr. Cobb felt that this was his only choice at the time...if guilty?
What brought him to that conclusion? Only he knows on this earth at this time...that doesnt change the ultimate consequence...but he may not rot in hell.
I hope Mr. Cobb gets a fair trial and gets what he deserves. None of us know what that should be.

Apparently he was schizophrenic and off his meds. Long history of behavioral issues. I’m not sure if that’s a valid excuse for killing his mother with a gun a wrapping her body in a blanket before fleeing.

Not a valid excuse (which implies that he should be excused from having done it) but certainly a factor to consider in how to deal with him.

Hardly like he's the only one from there hopefully Ben Gordon is behind bars somewhere.

Pretty sure Ben Gordon had his his jersey retired a week or so ago, at Uconn. So definitely not behind bars.

No its not a valid excuse but probably the reason. Its too bad that a symptom or behavior of that illness is being resistant to taking the meds.
Unfortunately, they feel much better once off meds initially and are blind to the eventual downturn.
Im sure once he gets back on the meds he needs his actions are gonna be a shocker to him.
Ive seén close family and friends suffer from this and similar illnesses ànd its horrible to witness. I wouldn't call any of them a POS, typically the exact opposite.
Im sure most people dont call those suffering with diabetes a POS, its unfortunate it happens to people with mental illnesses.

Making excuses and excusing this behavior as due to a mental llness is soft. He knew what he was doing, knew the result of his murder would get him in trouble and tried to hide the crime. Hope he burns in hell. As a man who had a family member viciously murdered and dismembered I can tell you that family members of the murdered have scars that never heal. It wasn't an accident. I am sure he knew what he was doing and did not care. Sure, for most of us think that mental illness is the reason it happened. That should not matter, I for one hope the killer is put down. I hope we stop coddling and excusing people who take innocent lives.

If he was schizophrenic he may not have known what he was doing. Schizophrenia is characterized variously by hallucinations, delusions and disorganized behavior. They can lose touch with reality.
Meds can be a struggle. Generally antipsychotics that affect mood, movement and how one respond to experiences.
This is a case of there but the Grace of God go I. Time for compassion rather than condemnation. Sad for everyone.
