Fortt, Pollard Gone From State Penn

not seeing a real united front here other than the PA meatheads that were posturing aweek ago... Screw them. If I my kid was a junior or under I would get them out of there and into the best school they could get into especially if they have a defined major where they can upgrade. PSU would be the last resort, I would not want my kid associated with that type of filth

Three notes:

1) They have officially changed their name from State Penn to Ped St., so get it right.

2) I continue to find it funny that all these players are leaving or considering leaving b/c they can't play in bowls. They weren't leaving b/c, you know, the program was proven to be harboring a child molester. This is a telling reflection of the priorities most of these schools/coaches/athletes have.

3) I saw where they have a kicker/punter who's considering other schools. Please God can we talk to him? Please???!!!???!???!?!?!?

That is your inference for why they are leaving. I haven't heard or read any of them say this. I'm not saying it is or isn't true, just that no one has said that. Btw, none of them left until the NCAA announced they could leave without penalty.

No sir...it was made very clear to me that we DO NOT have a problem with our kicking game.

Fair point, though I'd counter with these:

-- I certainly was unaware of any rumors of transfers from the time the scandal broke until sanctions were announced. If anything, their recruiting appeared to pick up.

-- Why does the penalty-free transfer matter that much? I mean, if you were playing for a coach involved in this manner in this scandal wouldn't you think one or two out of 85 kids might say, "you know what? Maybe sitting out a year is worth getting away from this cesspool."

Because I think it matters as to where they can transfer because the NCAA also waived the 25 schollie limit for a year.

I wouldn't want my kid to have a Penn State diploma. Even if my kid was a senior I'd beg him to transfer.

Keep in mind, though, that many of the 'deniers' are employers who are now even MORE likely to hire Ped State (have I got it right, now?) alums.

One place where there is a real network is Southern Cal - they love to hire from the old alma mater.

That makes 6 current players gone (including an A-A running back candidate), two 2013 decommits, plus six more 2013 committs seriously exploring other schools. The loss of Redd and his 5 defecting teammates would prompt me to think that they'll start to suffer badly, W-L-wise, this coming season EXCEPT that their first 6 games are: Ohio, UVa, Navy, Temple, Illinois and NWestern. I wouldn't be surprised if, playing over their heads and with a chip on their shoulders and without a major injury rash, they start 6-0 or 5-1 and finish 8-4.

I read that Pollard stated "why should I suffer for what other people did" as the reasoning behind him leaving.

Throw in a new staff...so I'm not so sure.

But Townie said that no Penn State players would ever tranfer to Rutgers!!! How can this be;)

Adding Pollard to Hamilton and Odrick gives RU a fantastic Dline class coming in.

And look who's back...so, so predictable.

But you never know, these pick-ups may get you over the hump against beating Houston or SMU or UCF for the Big east crown in a couple years. And guess how many people will notice?

Destined for even further irrelevance.

What is predictable is using the "we are going to the ACC and the Big East is terrible" response or some variation of it to every post. Doesn't make sense to bash a conference you are picked to finish near last in(and finished dead last in last year).

BTW Houston/SMU/UCF are all better teams then SU at the moment...

Next time you see Shady, ask him how much he knew and when, during his 5 years there, about Sandusky. Gotta believe he knew a lot when other coaches are admitting assistants saw Sanducksy take little boys into the showers all the time. Why wouldn't he call the police?

damn I thought we were done with this . Do you have nothing better to do than post on other teams boards? By the way who approved his request to post here, can't we revisit that decision?

Your school would KILL to be included in a major league. Hey, but if you personally are content playing in a league with teams from Cali and Texas and Idaho, no skin off my back. Good luck with that down the road.

The rising tide of realignment has lifted all boats. Well, most.

Shouldnt you be prepping for that big show down with Norfolk State, Kent State, and Army?

I like that we play Army regularly and am looking forward to making the road trip to Arkansas this fall.

Am not looking forward to the Kent State game!

I thought Townie said that Rutgers fans were excited about the Penn State situation for personal gain.

And judging by this message, Townie was dead right.

Did you send flowers yet?
