You can't second guess that. 9 seconds is fine. A guy we wanted to shoot, shot.I really think that foul needed to be taken closer to the 5 second mark there. If they want to shoot at 7 seconds, let them. You have time on the back end. Not a fan of that at all.

I'm not second guessing. Before the play I was like, take it to 5...10 seconds is a TON of time to set up an offense. You can't second guess that. 9 seconds is fine. A guy we wanted to shoot, shot.
You are talking in the perfect world. Sure. but in the real world of hoop, he turned the corner and was starting a drive. There was nothing wrong with when we fouled. If you could draw it up. yes, foul at the 5 second mark. But Virginia had a say in that. their guy made a shot at the end. Good for him. We did okay.I'm not second guessing. Before the play I was like, take it to 5...10 seconds is a TON of time to set up an offense.
Idk why they took that foul. It did absolutely nothing.
yeah, it did. It made them start all over and allowed us to set our defense. The guy made a shot he usually wouldn't make. It happens.Idk why they took that foul. It did absolutely nothing.
i wanted the foul taken, i just feel like when you are still refusing to switch to man, its a tall order to expect someone to not be wide open in 10 seconds of game play. Too much timeI wouldnt have taken the foul. I would have just let possession play out. Putting yourself in bonus could just make you play scared defensively.
It did nothing. All they did was inbounds it with 10 seconds left and Clarke blew by Kadary. I can live with the guy making a contested 3. But a wide open catch n shoot kick out 3 is frustrating.yeah, it did. It made them start all over and allowed us to set our defense. The guy made a shot he usually wouldn't make. It happens.
He fouled at that time because he was screened and didn’t want Clark getting into the lane. Sure, would have been great to keep the last foul until 5. But that was the time it needed to happen.
I agree - the opposing team often dictates when you have to commit the foul if they attack like their PG was doing. If you get too cute you risk a shooting foul call. End was frustrating but we got the exact kid we wanted with the ball with time expiring. Sometimes you tip your hat.You can't second guess that. 9 seconds is fine. A guy we wanted to shoot, shot.
That gives them less options to pass it around. You can break down the zone easier with 4 extra seconds. Not sure 9 seconds or 5 seconds matters a ton. Wish we had pressured the inbounds either way though.
That, is the question. if we had, we might have stole the ball. Or, they might have scored a quick hoop and we would have had a broken court to get off a buddy 3Not sure 9 seconds or 5 seconds matters a ton. Wish we had pressured the inbounds either way though.
The way it turned out but I was thrilled when they fouled Buddy. It gave us two foul shots to tie instead of a tough shot to tie or take the lead.UVA fouling Buddy on accident was a great play. Best we could do was tie and they get last shot.
