I don't know if someone else has done this already, but I did a quick check using StatSheet.com trying to determine the last time we were whistled for as many fouls as we were on Saturday against Ohio State. What I found was that the 29 fouls whistled against us was really unprecedented.

The last time was the 6 OT game against UConn. Setting that game aside for obvious reasons you have to go all the way back to a Great Alaskan Shootout Win over Ohio State in 2000-01 when we got whistled for 32 fouls. Interestingly enough, we were whistled for 31 fouls later that season in a loss in the dome against Tennessee.

Here is the season high each year back to 2000-01

2011-12 Ohio State (29) next highest Albany (23)
2010-11 Marquette (22) - regular season game
2009-10 Georgetown (26)
2008-09 UConn (30) next highest 24 vs. Nova
2007-08 Nova (27)
2006-07 Clemson (28) NIT game
2005-06 Nova, L'ville, Pitt & Uconn (26)
2004-05 Uconn (26)
2003-04 Uconn (26)
2002-03 Georgetown (26)
2001-02 Nova (28)
2000-01 Ohio State (32)
Tennessee (31)

Draw your own conclusions.

Where is the Digger in the Dome Irish Jig game? ND made 40 ft's

I think that was 85-86.

Syracuse home record is 36 vs. Siena in 1979, followed up by 34 against GWU in 1994.

There were 37 fouls whistled against Siena in that 1979 game. That game must have been an absolute blood bath.
