Please note that the fourth annual Orangeyes Open will be played at Foxfore Golf Course in Baldwinsville on Saturday, August 5th. We will have a shotgun start at noon.

OrangeOnions and CNYCentralCuse will be co-directors with yours truly.

All profits go to the Rochester/CNY Chapter of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America. It is a great event for a wonderful cause. Being a part of it gives you a chance to meet many members of the syracusefan.com community, talk SU sports with fellow maniacs, maybe bid on some excellent memorabilia and meet some movers and shakers at SU. cto has again agreed to donate her courtside tickets to a game to headline the auction. The actual game will be mutually determined; in addition to 2 courtside tickets, you get a VIP parking pass literally across the street from the Dome and access to the VIP waiting area before the first and second halves, where you have access to food and drink (including beer and wine). @cnycentral has also done a great job in the past getting great gifts from local pro teams, etc.

Most importantly, this event provides a way to pay tribute to and remember our dear friend Orangeyes.

We need rough numbers for planning purposes. If you plan to attend, please reply to this thread indicating the number of people in your group and whether you are doing golf and dinner or just dinner.

Example:

sutomcat 4 for golf and dinner, 1 more for dinner only

Thanks and hope you see you out on the course!

Send payment electronically to sutomcat @ hotmail.com or send a check to

We have raised over $15,000 for the local chapter of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) in the 1st 3 years of the event. I am looking forward to a fun day with friends and family while honoring my father and raising funds. Hope you can join us!

I'm in again with the ragtag crew led by OrangeTown. Hopefully there will be more video of folks shotgunning beers following eagle putts.

If anyone wants to get in a little practice at Foxfire and help another local charity (mine -- selfish plug), go to my thread on the Offtopic Board. Tournament is this Friday, May 26th 10:00am. Thanks!

I expect to play in a foursome this year...names to follow.

Just saying... we typically struggle to find a fourth...

Update:

The start of the tournament might push out a little. The shotgun start will probably start in the 12:15 to 12:30 range.

Also, if you want to play, please reply to one of the pinned threads and express interest. If you don't have 4 people, our gifted matchmaker we will pair you up. I bet our matchmaker ensd up starting one or two marriages and dozens of lifelong friendships every year.

Not making it this year. Was hoping to combine with our trip to Toronto. But hubby is having ongoing medical issues, so we are coming back to AZ on August 2nd for a Dr. appt. At least he is getting to see our son as it has been 2 years.

On the Crohn's front, it looks like my other son does not need another surgery. He sees the Dr. on Friday. Probably will go back on Humira injections.

I am sending a donation. I think I have Tom saved in my paypal account.

I will see everyone in October. Plan is to be in for TWO games. Orange Central (Oct. 7) and the Clemson game. See you at the Clemson tailgate. Probably can't make the other tailgate...Duties with SU

So, things did not go so smoothly. My son tested positive for TB. Could be a false positive, could be he picked up the bacteria the last time he was on Humira. Was suppose to start Stelara, but now must see an infectious disease specialist before he can go on the meds. There is over a month wait to get into t he infectious disease Dr. And the gastro Dr. is still not ruling out surgery...This is Crohn's life!! So from my family, thank you for all you are doing!!

I'm sorry to hear this. Sounds very frustrating. Wishing your son and family the best. Glad we can help in some small way.

Sorry to hear, Linda. You and your family are in my thoughts.

Can't wait to meet you one of these years.

If anyone needs a fourth and loves complexity, I may be your option. I came into Syracuse by train a few weeks ago and may be leaving again by train on August 8th at 9:30 PM but who really knows for sure. I didn't bring golf clubs with me, but Dan Johnson was as good a man as I've known during my lifetime, including most or all of you, and I love spending a day honoring his memory. There is no greater honor than to have your friends celebrate your life after you're gone.

I have no car with me but might be able to use my sister-in-laws' car to get to the outing, but maybe not and would be looking for someone that cares enough to give me a ride from somewhere near Syracuse to the golf course to the train station near Destiny Mall sometime after the outing. My plans are very up in the air but the Dan Johnson outing is very close to my scheduling issues and certainly to my heart. I hope to get there to celebrate an outstanding human with all of you. If not, celebrate him without me. Dan was and is a great man...many of us are here because of him, and I'm not really talking of his kids. His kids were fortunate in a way I hope my kids will feel fortunate when I'm gone. He made a difference to many of us. I still love you Dan...you made life better. Please let me know if you can use me in your group...

Shenexon,

As an OE alum, you are always welcomed to play. We will find a spot for you. If you are still having transportation challenges, let me know and we'll arrange something.

Thanks for the kind words about my pops.
