Fran’s here for life

I am actually partially glad we have a really tough schedule this year... If Fran hit it out park again this year, there'd be big programs starting to line up stupid money to poach him.

It will eventually happen if he's successful and there may likely be a point where the money and big program offer is just too big not to take.

...a good problem to have, of course, if you are cuse.

If Fran hits it out of the park this year, he should be paid what he's worth. The ROI will be more than worth it.

This year we're winning all our home games, so that's six right there. We'll probably win a couple on the road, so there's where our bowl game seeding will come from.
And, by the way, it's "we," even though I've never blocked, tackled or run by an opposing player on the field.
I hope so. But we didn't sweep our home games last year. And this year we play two teams that beat us last year. And two more than will be very tough. Sweeping the home games in possible but not likely imho. And winning two games on the road schedule is even tougher.

Newsflash, there’s nothing wrong with being realistic.

It’s sports. You have no idea if they’ll go 0-12 or 12-0 or anywhere inbetween

Being “realistic” is assuming you know the answers. I just cannot stand when people assume the worst because of XYZ

I can give you 10,000 examples of teams completely over exceeding expectations from “the experts” and let me start with the 2024 Syracuse Orange who had expectations of 6 wins.

Fran has seen past success and greatness at this program. Rutgers has never been Syracuse. UConn, don't be ridiculous. Penn State and BC have been our only competitors in our foot print who are legendary programs. Fran knows he could have a great program here, and he understands how to do it. He has seen it.

He is embracing all the PR value in the Syracuse brand, connecting to our past, and instilling that in a new generation of recruits and fans. He could be great here. I think he feels it. We believe in him, and Jersey is just part of our traditional hunting ground, and that's who he is. Jersey Tough.

Pitt has a stronger football tradition than BC - better winning percentage and has won national championships. And between Pitt and Syracuse, each program’s down periods match pretty closely with when the other program is good -so now would be a great time for Pitt to go in the toilet.

If Fran makes a bowl after so many personnel losses, I'll be really happy.

If somehow this team can win 8 games, we are going to be competing for championships in the near future.

I agree, but to me, Pitt really recruits Western PA, Ohio, West Virginia. The Eastern PA / Philly kids wind up more at Penn State than Pitt, as I have seen it over the years.

After going 10-3, losing a player in the top 10 of Heisman voting and facing a top three schedule, one would have to be on the craziest, mind-altering drugs to think we will be the same or better. I am nothing but jealous of your state of mind.

willy wonka pure imagination GIF

Not from me.

I was being realistic then, just as I am now.

Wouldn't it be nice to beat Miami away this year like we did at the end of the last season? :)

Personably , I look at a season where I assume nothing. You can't foresee injuries or sickness or any other negative that can happen with Syracuse or any team they play. I respect Fran Brown and assume he will make the best decision when he puts his team on the field and thats the way I approach every game.

I love your enthusiasm. Something tells me if HCFB was here 20 years ago, we would be at the top of CFB right now. But I just wonder if the circumstances surrounding CFB right now - the B10/SEC cabal, NIL, Portal, Facilities and HC salary arms race, etc. - if it isn’t 10x more difficult for us to compete at that level.

I’m probably wrong. HCFB is a force of nature, and I would never bet against him. I’m just feeling kind of cynical, I guess.

It's funny, looking through the CFB board on Reddit, there are so many fans of other teams that really express how much they like and respect Fran.
Join us here if you're interested. Trying to get a true SU Football sub going rather than CFB.
