Fran nor EROB should wash for a week after this.

I thought they were defensive coaches. When you’re a head coach and your side of the ball stinks well that’s an issue
We are running a 17 year old out there on big, fast, strong Tennessee WR’s at basically a road game. It was a pretty predictable game. I never even got pissed because it’s exactly what I expected.

Fine line about this game is we put up decent points against an SEC defense. If this was a Dino team we lose that game 59-0, 59-7. We are making progress. I know it’s tough to swallow after that but we’ll be 2-1 after the next couple weeks. (Knock on wood)

Disappointing but there was some positives. Willis looked really good against a strong D. Does need to work on blitz pickup. Angeli had some good moments but some issues also. He did move them down the field against a good D. Was his second game as a starter once he watches the film he hopefully will make the adjustments.
For D I was really hoping for better. Could not stop the run, even when they got to qb he avoided pressure, tackling still a problem and coverage was poor. A number of third a long and wr was wide open.
I know Fran is not happy. He will get them refocused for next week.

The biggest problem I had was everytime we built any momentum, Tennessee would immediately answer back. We get the fumble recovery and then the next play is a strip sack TD. We finally get the offense working and then it's a 73 yard TD two plays later. Tennessee was better than us. That's not a shocker. Yasim Willis is going to be a problem for other teams. Angeli isn't McCord but is pretty good. Didn't really have a WR separate as the Alpha. Hopefully JRS can be that. Could have used Meeks and Oronde today. Even for how much we were gashed our defense did tackle well. Lots of physical solo tackles prevented even more big plays. Samuels was picked on. He'll get better. Beating UCONN rights the ship and then we get Colgate to build some momentum before another brutal test against Clemson.

Everyone is assuming we beat UConn handily. Nothing is a given with this style of defense.
