I don't think that's entirely accurate. Any WR would be worried about a dip in production when the nations leading passer leaves. Noone expects Rickie to do what kyle did. Combine that with the schedule and most stats are going to drop even if Collins is great

He's a small receiver and the margins for drafted vs. undrafted are thin.

If catches and output is all he cares about not many systems will get him the same results

He could have a great year catching 60 balls, not many slot guys had the yr he had last year

He makes more money, nothing else is a given.

Trebor is about trebor but said not in a bad way, some are leaders some are not, want to take a team on ones back, some are not more concerned with ones future, simple as that. Reading between the lines trebor thinks he needs to maximize $ right now and Collins may not be able to be at mccords level is his concern. Fran understands his need to secure his future to maximize those chances.

Never seen a more transparent coach. How can I or we not support this guy in his endeavors. I'm officially schizophrenic on my support. Back in. Karma, in that I never ever can catch these interviews but all the planets aligned for me to catch it, think for a reason. Gonna keep two of my five tix, decision made.

Appreciate that Fran said that’s out of line and not what will be happening. So, not just the qb level but also the design around the whole of the new offensive talent

The way he worded it it could be the QB, it could be a change in the system. Want assurances he would be able to replicate his numbers. I am not reading an indictment of Collins into it.

Yeah, it makes sense.

Treb prolly wanted the same or more receptions, while Nixon is planning on spreading it out - again-
while also passing less and running more, including some designed QB runs.

So, between less passing overall -
because we no longer have the unicorn, Kyle (expletive deleted) McCord behind center-
and likely a less pass-centric attack,
Treb took his ball and went home.

I get the timing sucks. But Pena is likely going to be an undrafted free agent after finishes college. This is likely his only shot to make $2m if that number is accurate. Impossible to blame him. Until someone/the joke NCAA steps up and creates a legal system where the two parties are bound to a contract the game is seriously broken.

i really like pena but a slot WR has to be one of the easier positions to replace so if you want x-amount more and it's some crazy ask, go enjoy that money at your new school

There's somebody at the helm (HCFB and staff) superintending and navigating this byzantine, heartless and abstruse CFB business, whereby you have to practically reconstitute a new team each year while balancing NIL, player expectations and team chemistry. It is because of Fran and his stellar leadership that I'm not walking away from the morass of CFB. He has a plan and he has convictions. They may not always be optimal, but they are certainly the best that can be expected given the nusto circumstances pervading the sport. As a longtime fan I'm pleased to follow his lead and enjoy the hell out of his (and others affiliated w/the program's) efforts.

And with the 3 freshman running backs Willis, James, and Hart, we have power and speed to run the ball more.
That gives Nixon more options on offense, and can create the ability to score more points.
We had a lot of total yards last year but scoring points in relation to yards wasn't good.
