In the players defense, you do normally want to go OB on a screen pass to preserve time. What was dumb was thinking this team should have preserved the time

Carney not knowing the playbook is a excuse that makes the coaching staff look worse. Collins was terrible last game and we had a bye week. So in 2 weeks they failed to get Carney ready to play? Like what are you doing. With Collins performance Carney should have at worst split first team reps for 2 straight weeks.

Tells me they had no thought to even play Carney it was all Collins or bust and it blew up in their face.

If the last three games doesn’t wake this staff the hell up about how bad Collins is, I don’t know what to say. The only time he looks even semi-competent has been in garbage time, that has literally happened all three games he started. The rest of each game is an INT/overthrow festival

Yep there is a simple solution if he doesn’t know the entire playbook: simplify the play calling. What’s the worst that can happen, our offense sucks? It already does, Rickie has led us to a non-garbage time TD one freaking time in three weeks and that was with a very short field. He is awful.

It has to be nonsense. He’s basically calling a player dumb. It’s a bad look any way you slice it.

Collins is roughly the 1,206,789th QB who looks good in practice but looks bad when he has 11 guys trying to kill him. Occasionally those QBs get better over 2-3 seasons, but they never get good enough from one week to the next. It literally doesn’t happen.

They won’t. At least it sure doesn’t seem like it. It’s so discouraging to see how lost our staff is right now, offensively. They have no clue. The run scheme is a mess, they can’t figure out how to get Collins some easy looks. It’s a train wreck.
