Fran wasn’t worried about beating Uconn

I think they got away from what was working because football coaches think running is what should be done when you’re up 14 in the 4th quarter. We just couldn’t do it well.

I really don’t think it was some kind of purposeful challenge or whatever. I also never thought we’d lose
I love allen and he nas won us 2-3 games but he played peek abo today and wasnt running full speed and attacking los as hard as he should.

They knew they could throw on those guys at will. They were forcing the run to challenge the OL. The defense rushed four and played coverage on purpose in the first half.

They were putting Kerr on an island to see what they have no sense in hiding him. Lots of miscommunication, need to get that fixed.

I doubt they are scheming Miami like they did today.

Brown wants to be a team that can impose it’s will, and he tests them.
Coach definitely challenged/tested Kerr this week.
Coach sensed something that led him to make that challenge. Having good Instincts is one of the most valuable traits a coach can have. Kerr is being coached up.
Maybe he needed a little boost in confidence ör sömething like that to make that next step as a player. From what I remember he was a late add and underrecruited, I could be wrong there. But I feel we have a very good player in Kerr!...Future pro. Im pretty sure he had a big punt return a few games ago and that was the first I heard about him.
Also think that its an ongoing challenge to dominate prior weaknesses. Most recently, starting off fast on offense, running the football more efficiently and to make better tackles.
Clearly still work to do but obvious improvements on all three.
* Maybe not so much running the ball today.

I will say as a fan I was never nervous before or during this game. SU dominated the entire time. There wasn’t a single moment I thought UConn had a shot or had momentum despite the score.
100%.
I was saying that was the most unemotional I have ever been during a fairly close game.
It was so predictable how the game would play out.

Game came down to an onside kick. We dominated the game but just like Cal and other games we don't put teams away. Easily left 20 points on the field.

If they correctly called a few pass interferences, we likely put up more points. We didn’t finish drives well and left points on the field.

UConn is a lot better than they were two years ago. They’ve improved their line play in particular and Mora is a solid coach. We weren’t taking them lightly and it was important to avoid a letdown after a big road win and the biggest game of the year next week. A win is a win

Could not disagree more. Just look at the pff run grades and you see the answer.
Im just saying as a runner. Not grading wise. i just feel he isnt attacking the los fast enough. I cant remeber what game it was but it was the game he won for us and he was hitting the los hard and fast. maybe ot game

When there isn’t an immediate hole he tends to dance a little and hope for something to open. Sometimes it does. He’s trying to be patient. But you can see the attack when he has a slight hole immediately.

I think Bellamy and Clark could have went if we needed them

Brown rolled with his reserves in an effort to keep them as healthy as possible for Miami game.

I don’t agree. He attacks at times when the hole isn’t there and he should be patient and he’s patient at times and does a stutter move when there is a hole and he should be attacking. That’s why so many games he’s getting 1-3 yards at best on so many carries. The line doesn’t help but it’s not all the line. The line this year was never going to allow him to dominate most games but there’s many plays where another 1-2 yards a rush could be had. That adds up at the end of the game and when you have so many 3 and shorts.

There are no holes regardless of how fast he hits the line. I don't see any holes being open and then closed by the time he or anyone else hits the line.

He's testing me for sure.
I can probably do it better, but yup! Missing some field goals, well that wasn't really the kickers fault, but some issues there... The PENA call back/penalty was a bit of a bogus call... It's almost like the REFs in the game were trying to CYA and want to be ACC Refs, but every single review (where we normally get screwed) they didn't reverse, and we won every single time... And how many times have we had that many reviews in a game... We must have set some sort of record... All I know is on one of them, I would have called that out of bounds... we need players with (not as wide feet) hahahah.

I’ve seen a bunch he’s missed on tv and seeing them live just confirms what I feel like I’m seeing. I’m not saying there’s holes all the time but when there are, he’s missing them in different ways (combo of being late to hit them, running into defenders instead of to the hole, etc) more routinely than I would expect.

I think the plan was to beat them badly and put some stuff on tape for Miami. 1/2 mission accomplished
Those trick plays were 100% to get Miami thinking about them. That was definitely foresight.

As where the multiple formations in the 1st quarter.

Per Rivals: "In the first quarter alone, Syracuse’s offense lined up in 11, 12, 13, 21 and 04 personnel. The Orange rolled out two different versions of wildcat with LeQuint Allen and Dan Villari both receiving the snap."

That would explain that wonky series on first and goal when we made the field goal.
