Javon honestly asks some of the best questions. He’s the chief best writer for the team. Hr needs to dig a little. It’s too bad if Fran doesn’t like it.

He made a couple of big time throws downfield on Saturday. One in the 2nd quarter that was about 30 yards in the air that was caught for a decent gain. What is this arm people keep speaking of? Nassib jumped out at me. Same for TD. Even CDRW. I haven’t seen anything seen nothing of Collins. His passes down field often float and are under thrown. I haven’t see. Short fastballs. What are people seeing?
That was my least favorite answer.Since we are doing this I didn’t love the whole transition from I hate losing to sometimes you have to lose for the players to learn…
It was very uncharacteristic. It either means we are totally toast (this year) or a bit “cope” at the performance on Saturday. That was my least favorite answer.
Maybe not immediately, but "if ever" is just plain false. If that were the case, there's no point in studying film or practicing. Repetition develops the timing and understanding of where your guys are going to be at any time during a play. Film study helps identify defensive coverage schemes, blitzes, etc.The problem is, decision making and going through progression do not improve immediately if ever.
One of the most important things for a QB is throw a catchable ball to the right place on time. And do is consistently. Rickie isn't close do doing that .He made a couple of big time throws downfield on Saturday. One in the 2nd quarter that was about 30 yards in the air that was caught for a decent gain.
Of course, he also made a bunch of bad throws, but it wasn't due to lack of arm strength.
I dont know how close he is to being able to do it consistently. Saying he isn't close is conjecture. One of the most important things for a QB is throw a catchable ball to the right place on time. And do is consistently. Rickie isn't close do doing that .
Fran gave us one of the worse losses since SU joined the ACC. His job is to win, not make excuses or take accountability for not doing a good job preparing his team to play Duke.Fran is so damn good. Taking accountability for Saturday. Rickie specifically reached out to Fran to rewatch the game together Saturday night. I hope fans realize that Fran is trying to instill national championship DNA. Not just make the playoff and flame out in round 1.

100%. See McCord and what Angeli was getting better at every week before the injury. We don't need an NFL first day draft pick to be successful on offense but you do need what you mention aboveArm strength is overrated just like WR speed for recruits was a wet dream for a lot of people on here during the Dino era. People loved getting all hot and bothered about recruiting a WR with elite speed but very little WR ability.
A QB who can read the defense, go through their progressions, keep their throwing mechanics under pressure and make accurate throws is far more important than a QB who can throw a 70 yard Hail Mary twice in their collegiate career.

You've got some issues.True, but I saw Major Harris throw a ball from his 30 into the Syracuse end zone in the '87 game. 70-yard rope. It was really impressive. I've kinda like West Virginia ever since (I know, I know).
Wouldn’t be shocked if that’s the reason - but do you have a source? He left because of how horrible Robinson is
Fran is as raw in the interview room as he is as a coach. Think of him as a slightly more experienced Ricke Collins. A lot more to learn in terms of coaching and handling the media. It’ll take time.I understand what you are saying here. He could have blah blah'd some coach speak on being aggressive on D and blitzing when needed, but then isn't he playing into your complaint that you never learn anything from his press conferences. It seems like the onus is on Javon to ask the question in a way that Fran feels he can properly answer, or he is stuck with whatever Fran gives him.
It was a legit question considering how Fran responds to questions. Fran isn’t accustomed to any type of question that might tip his hand or box him into a corner. He’s never been a head coach. He was a secondary coach for years, so he never had to face the music. Let’s see how deals with the media in the coming weeks.
Yeah, not sure they were stealing signs as much as they might have been just reading our signs. Maybe we just didn’t change them from Clemson and Duke was able to recognize our calls. I say this because Fran wanted to quickly move on when someone suggested Duke might have been up on our play calling. You are accusing Duke of stealing signs. I just think they outplayed us from play one , seemed more intense and motivated . Just the sense you got watching in person. Wish I had the confidence in RC that others do . Lot of $$$ spent to get to Dallas to see us get spanked again .
Can tell you’re a walk on.
How does one become no longer a walk on? Asking for a friend. Can tell you’re a walk on.
He has no source. Wild speculation.Wouldn’t be shocked if that’s the reason - but do you have a source?
