Its not that I really think he is going to PSU. However, the way he answered did not make me feel warm and fuzzy if another perceived "bigger school" comes along that Fran wont bolt. And that is okay, it does not make him a bad person or anything but just the reality.

We also could be WAY reading into this at this point.

Penn State fans would burn down the campus if they hired Fran. There’s zero chance. Zero. There, I said it.

That is my get feeling as well. PSU, like it or not, is a major, major program. There will be very successful coaches whose agents are already hounding the AD's office.

Fran is a heralded recruiter, a former position coach, and one very good year as a head coach. And that year with a very good college QB, and part of this year with another good college QB. The rest of this year is TBD.

It is an interesting resume, but there are likely many better alternatives. Sure, SU hired Fran even before he had HC experience, but...painful as it is to admit what we all know...we aren't PSU and didn't have solid choices beating down our door. PSU will have those and, again, likely already are inundated with queries from many shiny objects.

Coaches come and go, so whatever. But Angeli going down aint doing Fran no favors if that was a lingering thought in his head. The worst part of Fran leaving would a bunch of players following suit. But I will take Fran at his word until it actually happens. Anyway, after Pitt smacks us around pretty good Saturday, I think we have another year and a half before we have to worry again. He'd have to prove he can right the ship with next year's season imo.

His last year at Baylor had a lot of quality Ws. Although only Texas ended the year ranked (25th). His first two years at Baylor, his time at Temple, and his time at Nebraska he has beaten no body of note. That said this year they should end up with a lot of Ws as they play nobody outside of USC.

I have talked with a dozen or so people asking about SU and the season not one person mentioned are they going to swap QBs. Other than people here who seem to think its a good idea, given a small 2 game sample size. Thats like buying a new driver and throwing it away after 6 holes.

Unless Collins gets hurt or just makes dumb plays he is the QB. They wont sit him down for good, because he doesnt execute plays, unless he is just not reading Ds or throwing the ball to the wrong team 3-4 times a game with bad decisions.

He has come a long way in 2 starts, Pitt D could do the same thing it did to Kyle last year and he still will probably roll out next week.

We should all be hoping they hire Rhule. Best possible outcome for Su except for maybe Norvell and that's not happening. Fran can beat Rhule in recruiting.

I mean, imagine Rhule being the head coach at Pitt. Would they have had the same success they have enjoyed with Nard Dog? Maybe, but I really don't think so.

I know, Ped state is not going to hire Narduzzi, thankfully, although it would be nice to have him out of the Acc.

If they hire Rhule, that will be the third time that AD Kraft has hired someone other than Fran. Think that will light a fire under Fran?
