and the bigger issue then becomes.. Can you sustain this for 10 yrs. then when the roster gets better and deeper can you come up with even more money?
Great point. I think at this point all we can do is focus on reaching the goals we want in the immediate future. Let the dominoes fall and more winning, then I believe it’ll continually make the pitch for money “easier”. Just need to focus on grabbing necessary NIL for 2025 right now, IMO.and the bigger issue then becomes.. Can you sustain this for 10 yrs. then when the roster gets better and deeper can you come up with even more money?
Fran has a plan. I think he truly loves it here.If there's anyone who can do it, it's Fran.
The best thing we have going for Fran is his love of his family and desire to coach his youngest son at college. He wants to do that at Syracuse.
I'm sure Philly and South Jersey could be a fruitful spot. It's more about tapping into the private business network across NY and NYC. There's a lot of money but it takes time to build new relationships. Doing stuff in the immediate CNY area is step one. You stretch that out into the northeast as Fran wins and builds the brand.
The million dollar question and we all fear that the answer is NO.and the bigger issue then becomes.. Can you sustain this for 10 yrs. then when the roster gets better and deeper can you come up with even more money?
It can but it’s probably going to come at the expense of other needs at the university. The million dollar question and we all fear that the answer is NO.
Well, the reality is it kind of has to at this point in time. Because if you rely on sports for academic recruiting (and our university does), you best spend the money now to ensure we remain at some form of big kid's table when the reshuffling ends. Otherwise, we're left out and really screwed. The time to spend big is now.It can but it’s probably going to come at the expense of other needs at the university.
Great hearing that.If there's anyone who can do it, it's Fran.

At one time we had a Saudi Prince who had an honorary degree. He gave away billions of dollars, and not to SU.We need to keep pace with his ambition. As long as we can provide everything he needs to be successful, I think we can hang onto him.

There have to be people out there who went to SU and were never kept in the loop by previous administrations.
People like Dick Clark, and the old Raiders owner. Must be some others out their.

Best articulation of what we face. He wants to do things right and he doesn’t put up with excuses. If hes all in, we better be all inWe need to keep pace with his ambition. As long as we can provide everything he needs to be successful, I think we can hang onto him.
