Fran's Prediction: SU in Top 25% for ACC NIL within 12 Months

and the bigger issue then becomes.. Can you sustain this for 10 yrs. then when the roster gets better and deeper can you come up with even more money?
Great point. I think at this point all we can do is focus on reaching the goals we want in the immediate future. Let the dominoes fall and more winning, then I believe it’ll continually make the pitch for money “easier”. Just need to focus on grabbing necessary NIL for 2025 right now, IMO.

It's more about tapping into the private business network across NY and NYC. There's a lot of money but it takes time to build new relationships. Doing stuff in the immediate CNY area is step one. You stretch that out into the northeast as Fran wins and builds the brand.
I'm sure Philly and South Jersey could be a fruitful spot.

The million dollar question and we all fear that the answer is NO.

It can but it’s probably going to come at the expense of other needs at the university.
Well, the reality is it kind of has to at this point in time. Because if you rely on sports for academic recruiting (and our university does), you best spend the money now to ensure we remain at some form of big kid's table when the reshuffling ends. Otherwise, we're left out and really screwed. The time to spend big is now.

If there's anyone who can do it, it's Fran.

The best thing we have going for Fran is his love of his family and desire to coach his youngest son at college. He wants to do that at Syracuse.
Great hearing that.
Fran has a plan. I think he truly loves it here.
Love it.

That said, coaches are generally transient. If they don't perform, they're on the way out, if they do perform, they may be on the way out. Just the nature of the gig.

Whenever the day comes that Fran is done here, we should be a little cautious to not set ourselves up for heartbreak.

Until then, enjoy what looks to be the funniest ride our fans have had in a really long time.

We need to keep pace with his ambition. As long as we can provide everything he needs to be successful, I think we can hang onto him.
At one time we had a Saudi Prince who had an honorary degree. He gave away billions of dollars, and not to SU.
There have to be people out there who went to SU and were never kept in the loop by previous administrations.
People like Dick Clark, and the old Raiders owner. Must be some others out their.

I had a class with a guy from Saudi Arabia, sometimes would catch a ride back to main campus in his $200k car. No idea how much money he had but he was loaded

I think that's why Fran likes the Students all in one section of the dome.
Make them feel not only part of the school but part of the program.
Build up a rappore with them while in school that will carry over into their life after they leave.

First step is packing Kent’s bags.

Best articulation of what we face. He wants to do things right and he doesn’t put up with excuses. If hes all in, we better be all in

Agreed, Kent is not a particular friend of what Fran is trying to accomplish here. And Fran will, as we have seen, and it is very obvious that he can and will make Syracuse an important school raising SU's football prowess to previously unreached heights.
But he needs new and increased spending to do it - to ensure he can operate with his new ideas on fast forward. We cannot afford to drag our feet here. Keep the momentum going from that last win in San Diego and plug this year's draft into the equation because we are going to get some players drafted. Keep SU in the news positive.

Great posts.

Keeping pace with Frans ambitions is number 1. You hired him to bring the program UP. He did - now you have to give the man the ammunition he needs to make the team a consistent winner. As someone else previously mentioned Fran loves it here, he's not going anywhere he's committed to this school and community. Let's show him we have his back and contribute whatever we can to his dream.

And have a down year or two in a row how does the NIL do then? Also a coach like Fran will be recruited to bigger programs. Does he stay?

The million dollar question and we all fear that the answer is NO.
You can if you get community support from local businesses. In ten years there could be a salary structure and caps. We see how Community Bank is stepping up. If you get several businesses stepping up we will be fine. At the press conference they stated on weekend game days business was up 75%. It behoves them to see successful football and basketball.
