Fran's Prediction: SU in Top 25% for ACC NIL within 12 Months

Fran Requires Players To Save 40% Of Their NIL $$'s. Is also holding financial literacy classes. Fan-tastic stuff, IMO:

This is a plan that may have far reaching benefits. It’s hard to teach young people to save, Fran is mandating it.

if I recall, SU was one of the early schools requiring players to attend some financial management training. If so, this looks like an extension of that program.

its an amazing testament to Fran and his vision. We need to support him, his players and his vision. Attending games is one thing, supporting the NIL is another. Getting to 8 million is a huge task and the rev share has zero to do with NIL. Thats just covering the universities budget loss.

You can if you get community support from local businesses. In ten years there could be a salary structure and caps. We see how Community Bank is stepping up. If you get several businesses stepping up we will be fine. At the press conference they stated on weekend game days business was up 75%. It behoves them to see successful football and basketball.
I think this is mostly true, but as another poster earliersaid, “where does it end?“. We could maximize our local businesses and do great, but it will still be a pittance compared to what the entire state of Ohio will raise for Ohio State, or even what the state of Mississippi will raise for their schools.

But we are really in an arms race with Boston College and Pitt and Wake Forest, etc. And at minimum have to out raise them.

Isn't the answer simple?

It ends with the big state schools with really big funding resources (huge undergrad and alumni fanbases, and statewide resources) sorting into their own high major super conference and the rest sorting into their own mid major and low major conferences with programs commensurate with their same financial and funding "like" footprints.

In other words, the SEC and B1G combining (with some drops) and a few poached from other existing conferences that meet the big boy pants profile. The Super conference. The fact that both conferences' brass have already formed an inter-conference guidance group and held meetings means they are likely preparing for this.

Obviously, Syracuse does not fit this super league profile and will likely sort into a next tier conference, however that sorts out.

I just hope we don't wind up in Slytherin.

I promise I am not trying to agitate here. Please help me understand how you see game attendance correlating directly to an $8million / year NIL war chest? I definitely think that having max butts in seats is a great look and builds the atmosphere around the programs we want, but I fail to understand what that has to do with NIL.

The idea is that big enthusiastic crowds will generate more enthusiasm among the donor base. It's not a dotted line correlation; it's about creating a great environment.

His latest interview i saw talked about having a good paying job in your major within 60 days of graduation. He's all about having his players sit in the 2 front rows in class, pay attention, apply yourself, and I'll help you grow into good, successful men.

This is the kind of stuff that is not only very pragmatic, but that wins with the 'rents, which is often more than half the battle with a lot of recruits.
