Freeman Falls Out of Mock Draft...

His significant fall in NBA draft stature probably has raised some concerns about his NBA future and how much money he will make from the game. I'm thinking a bigger payday from NIL in year 2 is probably more important to him heading into next year.

If he stays in college I can’t see him coming back here. He could get a bigger bag, play on a better team, get more development, all while getting roughly yhe same PT as he did here.
He was a highly rated recruit, but he wasn't he a mediocre player on a terrible team? I am not sure who would drop a bag on him.

I’m sure he wants to play in the NBA more. And there’s no evidence that this staff can adequately develop him to get to that level. I would be shocked if he doesn’t transfer.
Why don’t you just offer him a huge bag, drive him to another school and be his individual trainer?

No doubt that Freeman, Moore and Starling will transfer. McLeod will fight for another year and stay in Syracuse if he gets it. White, Anthony and Fennell will all be in walking boots by next December.
( Just wanted to join in with the fun group conversation)

Think positively. Good chance of an NIL deal if that happens.

Let Freeman play the 3 White the 4 grab a great PG Have JJ at the 2 and an athletic rim blocker and play ball
Thanks. Just looking at our Frosh, I think no matter what we should be taller and longer. All 4 are 6'5 or taller, Kiyan is actually the shortest.

Right now we don't have a Guard on the roster over 6'4. JC plays like he's 5'8, Cuffe is beefy but 6'2. JJ and Moore at 6'4.

JC is probably closer to 5'8" than Cuffe is to 6'2".

I typically am a pretty positive person. Unfortunately there’s not much to be positive about with this program right now.

why would anyone come here ? Seems like we have a new tendency to have players ranked high in mock drafts before they get here then fall off the face of the earth .

I remember when it was the opposite. Guys who weren’t in mock drafts coming into Syracuse getting drafted once they leave Syracuse.

For sure. Our recruits always seemed to be rated Lower than what they should have been whereas those going to Kansas / Duke /UNc would be artificially boosted the second they signed . A lot of that was player development on our part particularly between years 1 and 2.

Kansas ( 11) / Duke (23) / Unc )7) . ( number of players currently in the NBA)
Syracuse (1) . 2014's jerami grant.
they're ranked higher than our guys for a reason and it ain't bias.

Pitino may have the right idea in not recruiting frosh, though there should definitely be some exceptions.

Is there anything that prevents a two year NIL deal for high schoolers ? One year deals no longer work for the majority of HS recruits in terms of enabling the schools to compete at a NCAA tournament level.

Two years should be the new norm with the kid having an out if he is good enough and chooses to go pro.
It's all pay for play so I don't see why not.
