horrible comparison either way"Reminds" is the keyword here bud, not "as good as". Who does he remind you of in terms of style of play... Joy Behar?

Glad to have you back in the game here !Some unknown analyst yesterday mentioned Donnie as someone who's quickly climbing up the draft boards and is likely to end up a first round pick. They mentioned his ability to score at all three levels and his athleticism and ball handling for a kid 6 foot 10. Whoever the guy was, he was very very high on Donnie. Don’t ask who it was cause I don’t know the guy. I listen to 8-9 different sports radio talk shows and outside the well known ones, they’re all the same.
I believe he was a big patron of the greater Germany comedy scene. He really, really like slapstick. Is Freud always involved in comedy?
He just lacks the bounce of an uber elite NBA player in my opinion. Skill wise he is very polished, most polished I have seen here in a long time. He’s the spitting image of KD. I don’t see Giannis at all from a game play perspective. Obviously he’s not as good as either but his game style and build are much more KD like. If we are going to do to a celebrity non-sports analogue, then I’d say it’s Geraldo Rivera because he’s got some old school Al Capone vaults game
Jokic is elite as they come and the only bounce he has are his man boobs. He just lacks the bounce of an uber elite NBA player in my opinion. Skill wise he is very polished, most polished I have seen here in a long time.
While Freeman's game isn't entirely predicated on being more athletic than his competitors, Jokic takes "being unathletic, and yet still dominant" to a place nobody ever has taken it... Freeman isn't like Jokic much at all. I guess if we're picking Hall of Fame guys that played the 4, I would go KD more than the other two mentioned in this thread, for sure. Right down to the skinny legs.Jokic is elite as they come and the only bounce he has are his man boobs.

But he has 100 lbs on freeman probably, so he dictates where he wants to be on the court and no one can tell him otherwise. I get your point though! Theres no one shoe fits allJokic is elite as they come and the only bounce he has are his man boobs.
BingoLast year he looked like he accidentally just talented his way in to double doubles.
This season it's clear he gets it (that steal late when he just got the ball from a guy that wasn't really paying attention, you could see Freeman read the situation all the way and just decided to take the possession away from FSU) and it's showing up in the stats. Seems to be getting 20 points pretty quietly and effortlessly.
No doubt Freeman is a terrific athlete... But I honestly think he'd be 25th percentile in current starting NBA power forwards.I think freeman is more athletic than people are giving him credit for. He’s fast. He’s got good body control. He just needs to get stronger. Which he will. I would call him “projectable with a high floor and high ceiling”
The point being freeman is plenty athletic enough for his specific style of game to succeed at the next level. Hes going to be a guy with a strong mid range and outside game who can get to the rack on occasion. If his game was predicated on dunking on smallish players, then we’d have a different storyNo doubt Freeman is a terrific athlete... But I honestly think he'd be 25th percentile in current starting NBA power forwards.
One thing that I think is awesome is the football RAS ranking that takes into account height, weight and a variety of tests that attempt to measure attributes like strength, speed, agility, power, and reaction time relative to other players of the same position but also height and weight. Obviously, a 325 lb defensive lineman running a 4.7 forty yard dash is amazing, but a CB running the same would be unplayable. Applying that same thinking to basketball is what bSPARQ does (or attempts to do).
In reference to a guy like Freeman, who might be 6'10, he might not be the freak athlete a guy much lighter and shorter in the NBA is... But his ability to affect the game is greater because he comes with a body that is more helpful for playing basketball.
As an aside, one reason some people think William Kyle might make the NBA is because even in that group he's an athletic freak. Even then, only because he's tall and has extremely long arms does he even have a chance. It's crazy how athletic the NBA is.
as far as the draft goes IMO syracuse missing the tourney is gonna have a huge negative impact on his draft slot. donny missed all of murderers row and needs the NCAA'S to showcase himself nationally . already got an injury rap sheet. i believe a good showing in the tourney is going to bump him 5-8 picks. but if he's sitting home watching it's gonna cost him money. gonna get leapfrogged draft day . again IMO.I think Donnie will have good measureables for his height and reach and all that. I think he's bulked up and can prob hang more muscle without impeding any of his skills. I think he'll crush interviews with GMs and scouts and coaches.
I'm less worried about his lack of explosive athleticism because I think he has a bball IQ and has enough athetlic ability combined with height and reach to be totally fine in the NBA at least as a rotational guy, especially if he's not a first or second option in a unit on the floor (his extreme upside I think would be a second guy at the very top of his potential, but I think that is unlikely).
I am worried about his health a little. He not only needs to stay healthy, he is someone that I think will benefit from NBA-level training in terms of recovery, running properly, how his body works, etc. He has to train his body a bit better and be aware of how he is landing and moving in general.
I really like him as a top of the second round prospect. He seems like a coachable kid with room for growth and he's competitive. This goes without saying, but I think he is someone that would exponentially benefit from going to an organization like a Spurs, Cs, OKC, etc where they are already good, have a great infrastructure, would love to be able to offload some guys eventually that may be looking at signing large contracts coming up and can be replaced with a rookie deal and someone that doesn't have to play 32 mpg off the rip. I know everyone wants to go to a good org, but when you look at someone that has clear talent but may need some real training/coaching but is open to it, I think it means even more.
The three things that struck me when I saw him in person:
1) his height listing isn't fake. he's real tall.
2) you can see his innate talent, clearly.
3) he is a bit awkward in his body still.
I love this photo.Jokic is elite as they come and the only bounce he has are his man boobs.
I don’t think playing in March will impact much at all. The scouts know where to look. They aren’t watching truTV in March to figure out who might be worth a draft pick.as far as the draft goes IMO syracuse missing the tourney is gonna have a huge negative impact on his draft slot. donny missed all of murderers row and needs the NCAA'S to showcase himself nationally . already got an injury rap sheet. i believe a good showing in the tourney is going to bump him 5-8 picks. but if he's sitting home watching it's gonna cost him money. gonna get leapfrogged draft day . again IMO.
au contraire . we've seen several players move up the draft boards in march. happens every year i'd say. and if someone's moving up ...I don’t think playing in March will impact much at all. true happens . but michael carter williams anyone ? how much tourney bump did he get ? and too many others to mention here. you wanna argue that it hurts ?You only need to go back to last year to see a team miss the tournament and have two guys go in the top 5
Definitely Johnny Flynn between the 6 OT game and Tourneytrue happens . but michael carter williams anyone ? how much tourney bump did he get ? and too many others to mention here. you wanna argue that it hurts ?
How. Donnie can actually shoot, not just dunkThis dude looks like an NBA player out there. He reminds me of Giannis, but a little shorter. He obviously would have erased 2 or 3 of the losses had he not been out, making us a minimum bubble team. The only thing holding this team back is Red's rotations. If he can learn to keep the hot hand on the court and learn to bench JJ/George when they're stinking up the joint, this team can play with anybody (except ISU). The more Donnie and the team build chemistry, the more they become a dangerous opponent for anybody. San Dimas high school football rules!
JW got essentially ZERO tourney bump. Went right about where he was projected to go as a JR.true happens . but michael carter williams anyone ? how much tourney bump did he get ? and too many others to mention here. you wanna argue that it hurts ?
