Syracuse scouting report: DePaul

Fab Melo ready for more Big East action

Recruiting

The Railsplitters forced turnovers on six of Skyline's next seven possessions and got steals and breakaway layups from Dashawn Suber and Isaiah Whitehead to win going away. Whitehead, considered one of the best sophomores in the country, finished with 12.

Hop & GMAC on the scouting trail

Full house of college coaches: Plenty of schools were on hand to see the talent on display, led by Syracuse sending coaches Mike Hopkins, Adrian Autry and Gerry McNamara to see Newton, the Neumann Goretti star.

But in the eye of even the most optimistic beholder, running sets to create pristine looks for Hakim Warrick and Ronnie Price suggests the potential for cosmic concerns on Planet Orange.

Well, Warrick and Price did combine to make an equal split of 14 of 26 shots from the field and score 30 points (16 is a career high for Price) during Wednesday's game with the Philadelphia 76ers at US Airways Center. Unfortunately, their teammates were an arctic 19 of 54, and -- even with the Warrick and Price in rhythm -- the Suns shot an alarming 32.5 percent in the opening half. And while Warrick helped prevent a record-setting catastrophe on offense, he managed to collect a measly three rebounds in 31-plus minutes and was the usual liability on defense

Wow ... those blocks by Grant were impressive ... How about him at the 4 if Rak leaves?

Really good game footage from the DeMatha game. Pretty excited about Grant after watching. He looks taller than I thought...great hops, evident esp on the alley-opp. Anya has good hands. Very mobile too. Love seeing both guys turn and find the nearest guy to box out when the ball goes up for the rebound.

BC is such a disaster. How can a team in ACC be so bad? 18% from the field in second half against Harvard? Unbelievable.
