Syracuse Mention

Jim Boeheim missed three Syracuse basketball games in 2001 after surgery for prostate cancer. He still signed Carmelo Anthony and won the national title the following season.

Biggest Tirades: These BR Mopes weren't even alive when Jim knocked over the Chairs in the BE Tourney OT Game presser with Georgetown With the The Hawk/Pearl/Kerins/Ewing crew . That was a tirade :rolling:

Compared to the others; that would have been number 2 just b/c it was not on the court like Knight's.

Agreed. That one was the Mother of All Tirades.

Except possibly for the Marty Byrnes Instead of Magic Johnson for Carrier Classic MVP Tirade of 1977, which was, to my knowledge, the first of the Major JB Tirades, a tirade that when first unleached on the world was thought by many to the "The Tirade to End All Tirades".

The GMac Overrated Tirade was a fine one, but too refined and understated to crack the Big Three. You have to have spit, objects thrown, hair torn out, scratch marks and dripping blood to get to that level.

Call me a shameless homer and a JB lackey, but I do not believe any coach on any planet in any galaxy has as fine a hat trick of tirades as these three.

I was at that game, but made it back to the dorm in time to hear it on WAER. Loved it! You could have made the argument either way, and it was strange that MVP went to a member of the losing team. I always thought he got it on all the hype. After all, it was only his 3rd college game.

In their prelim game, MSU crushed Rhode Island , who had Sly Williams. The student section in the Zoo stood all game chanting URI...URI..URINE! We got a couple of smirks from Sly, but Jack Kraft was not happy with us.
