“Patience. Patience. Patience,’’ Triche said. “He’s got to make sure his highs aren’t too high, and his lows aren’t too low. DaJuan is a kid with great energy and passion, and sometimes he has to temper that. But he works hard and is willing to learn. I’ve told him just to keep a happy medium and he’ll be OK.’’


That advice sounds strange coming from Triche who has almost been too milk toast over the course of his career. I hope he lets the energy and passion shine through, goes for the highs and takes whatever lows come with it. I'm not big on the happy medium from those with the potential to do much much more. That said it's hard to argue with how its worked for Triche over the last couple of seasons given the team's results.

BT has always looked a little too passive, and in the past it was easily hidden behind the outrageous personalities on the squad.
I can remember 4-5 games in his career where Triche came out of his shell and dominated play for long stretches at a time, but the whole "letting the game come to him" schtick isn't foolproof. A 10-pt deficit vs GTown, UL, or ND might need more than a little "patience" to overcome.
He's the leader this year and they'll be times the youngsters look to him to take charge. I hope he'll step up and give them what's needed, not just what works for him.
