FSU Post Game

Normally good offense breeds good defense, not quite with these guys… wining these games is a must but I’m struggling to see how we compete with the big boys. That said, get through this stretch undefeated and then there isn’t a bad loss left on the schedule

Thank you Donnie.
-Donnie is a program changer. To have a big who can shoot, go to the basket and move the ball is so huge. His block was critical. I love how he can get the rebound and take the ball himself and dribble under control. He still needs to be more aggressive on the boards and play better d but we are so lucky he is healthy and back.
-It was mystifying why Red had Kiyan in late instead of George. Especially on a night when George had 13 assists! What was the rationale there?
-Once was bad enough against Hofstra, but for White to get another technical is a complete disgrace. Shame on the player and shame on Red for not making it clear that that is unacceptable, if in fact he didn’t. White made a couple of huge plays but he celebrated on one and didn’t get back on defense. He needs to mature and cut that garbage out immediately.
-really nice night from Kyle. Kid just gives it his all every minute he is out there. So likeable.
-Aside from a couple of big threes Kingz was awful. Particularly on defense, which is surprising because he has been perhaps our best defensive player on the ball. His last three games have been really poor. You wonder if Betsey might make more sense in the starting lineup. But it is nice having him come off the bench as a scorer. Betsey was on fire and I gave him a ton of credit for not forcing shots when he wasn’t open.
-we had some remarkably bad turnovers and late in the game inexplicably we started fouling, which was the only way they could potentially come back. But Florida state played well and I will take this one gladly.

I hate playing against teams that play like FSU. Puts a lot of pressure on your offense.

Gotta keep winning. But we’re making a case for the tournament committee to have to consider Donnie’s injury. He’s been playing really damn well.

Not a fan of keeping Nait on the bench while JJ and Kiyan struggle to get us into an offensive of set.

Survive and advance…
