5 teams are top 20 in both offense and defense.

Oregon - 2nd total offense, 11th total defense
Miami - 8, 13
SU - 9, 15
ND - 20, 7
UGA - 13, 18

Clemson is just outside at 21, 7.

I get the schedule but that is still really good.

If Army doesn’t hit on that late TD SU would be 5th in Total Defense and 4th in scoring defense.

There are two teams top 10 Scoring Offense/Defense

Oklahoma 4/2
SU 6/7

another 5 top 20

Oregon 2/17
PSU 15/4
Miami 7/13
UGA 14/10
ND 18/15

Again get the schedule, but that’s really good.

ACC. Total Offense/Defense, Scoring Offense/Defense

Miami - 8/13, 7/13
SU - 9/15, 6/7
Clemson - 21/8, 33/58
Duke - 49/16, 28/4
Lville - 5/67, 9/40
UNC - 23/71, 34/57
Wake - 48/53, 69/61
NCSt - 78/44, 65/56
Pitt - 116/12, 90/65
GT - 17/118, 44/102
FSU - 47/100, 8/58
VT - 110/61, 105/73
BC - 63/111, 75/121
UVA 106/112, 113/127 - (this is Gergian bad, that was SU’s profile for four years)

Yesterday was a tale of two halves.

1st 77 yds on 18 plays, had the ball for 6:37, 3pts

Ended with 403 on 63 plays with 26:40 top, 29pts.

SU is 20 of 25 in the red zone, still most attempts in the country. 5 misses - two end of game kneel downs, two 2nd and 3rd team fumbles, one missed FG.

They don’t give up the late TD, they would have held Army to 190 yds and 10 pts.

Defense has been consistently excellent. Still think the offense can be better. Need the line to keep improving. Can’t afford anymore losses at WR, need Pena to contribute and Jones to be back for the last five.

Assuming there aren’t a mass bunch of injuries, this should be at least a 9-3 regular season.

Red zone success is the key stat out of all of that. We’ve had years with decent offensive numbers but terrible usually on 3rd % and absolutely terrible in the red zone. I don’t know what the breakdown is in the red zone but my gut is calling plays not being scared to throw or to run, not being too conservative has been key.

3rd and short/close red zone is where the SU 3stars vs 4’s and 5’s has shown itself under Dino. Getting big boi’d.

roles reversed first four weeks, which is sign the roster is getting better.

It’s going to get much harder next three. Still think the offense has a couple of more gears.
