I have never read what become of the tunnels. I assume the entrance to them from the gym locker room was closed after Archbold closed. Believe the locker rooms survived for a long time afterwards. They might still be there for all I know. They were surely sealed on the Archbold side as well before it was demolished. I doubt anyone took the time to excavate them and remove them so they probably remain down there, and probably likely will remain there for the foreseeable future. I know the Physics lab under the north bleachers at Archnbold was originally for Professor Levinstein. Good article on the SU Physics department back in the 1950s. It mentions when Levinstein’s lab was moved to Archbold. I believe it also includes some mentions of nycfan ’s remarkable father. I never had classes there but I remember seeing signs on doors for the Physics department at Archbold in 1978. I am sure it remained at Archbold all the way to the day it closed, and perhaps beyond that. I thought it said something about collider by the lab. Believe there were also some ominous looking radiation symbols on the doors. There was also a facility under the north bleachers at Archbold that housed dogs. I have no idea why there were dogs there but there were. It seemed whenever I walked by one would sense my presence and it sounded like the whole crew of dogs would go crazy barking. It was very loud and I was very scared. Anyone else remember dogs at Archnbold? https://artsandsciences.syracuse.edu/anniversary-issue/physics-cold-war/
