I hope the new AD gets on his horse with future schedules. It's frustrating to see other P-5 schools fill in their OCC schedules into the 2020's. :noidea:

SU in talks with Wisconsin http://www.syracuse.com/orangefootb...otball_wisconsin_scheduling.html#incart_river

This program just doesn't get it. We don't belong playing the Wisconsin's of the world right now.
Play them in 2020 and 2021. They would be the marquee OOC opponent, assuming they are still good at that time. We will be ready by then.

2019 is also setting up to be "softer" OOC. I would just as soon not add a behemoth that year. Make that year our title run, when Washington, Neal, and Culpepper are seniors.

2016 Notre Dame
2017 LSU
2018 Notre Dame
2019 Maryland
2020 Wisconsin?
2021 Wisconsin?
2022 Notre Dame

Agreed Java...'20/'21 sound perfect and Wisky is open then also.

Our fanbase expects one big OOC game each season.

Home in '20 and away in '21 would work.

Hearing a schedule of wisconsin makes me nervous right now

- I would be happy with competitive games we should win 50% of the time. We've really struggled with the big 10 lately

I think Kentucky, indiana, northwestern, minnesota, WVU, texas tech are games that make sense to me right now

- I think the article on how Baylor rose was great - fake it til you make it (ie schedule games you can win so you get to bowl games, then schedule bigger teams)

I forgot we scheduled UCONN. Was it a home and home? 2016 would be good if we could trade ND for Buffalo.

Being in the same division as FSU, Clemson, and Louisville we would be fine scheduling 1 FCS, a MAC, and then an AAC, and lower P5 school.

Schools i'd like to see us schedule:

Tier 1 (Most challenging)

Maryland
Rutgers
Illinois
Northwestern
Vanderbilt
WVU
Cincinatti
Minnesota
Purdue
Indiana
Iowa

Tier 2

USF
UCONN
UCF
Navy
No. Illinois
Memphis
ECU
Temple

Tier 3

Army
Tulane
ODU
Fla Atlantic
Fla Intl
Charlotte
So. Alabama
Ga St
MAC Conf.

Tier 4

Colgate
Holy Cross
Rhode Island
Villanova
Georgetown

I'd omit Cinci. Too high risk vs too little reward for a W vs a non P5 team.

I like Jack Arute's thoughts on this: don't schedule more than 2 years out. We have no idea how some teams are going to be 5 years from now. He also wants the NCAA to take the reigns on scheduling to get uniformity, but not sure I like that idea.
