Officially done for the season. Nearly 900 yards, 12 touchdowns. Season over.

I believe his backup is freshman Reggie Gillespie who Syracuse was also recruiting last year.

N.C. State running back Matt Dayes will miss the remainder of the 2015 season, according to a release from the school Thursday afternoon.

Dayes suffered a foot injury against Clemson in the Wolfpack's 56-41 loss.

“I’m disappointed for Matt because he was having a really good year,” State coach Dave Doeren said. “But in football you’ve got to have a ‘next man up’ mentality, and I’m confident that his teammates will be ready to take on bigger roles and be successful.”

Dayes' 108.1 rushing yards per game this season are the most for a Wolfpack player since 1981 (Joe McIntosh), while his 12 rushing touchdowns tie as the seventh-best single season mark in school history.

With Dayes' injury, Southern Guilford product Reggie Gallaspy and fullback Jaylen Samuels are the primary backfield options for the Wolfpack.

Gallaspy has 123 yards on 34 carries with two touchdowns this season. Samuels, used as a multi-purpose back, has 208 yards on the ground this season with 11 touchdowns on the year.

State (5-3, 1-3) travels to Boston College (3-6, 0-6) on Saturday.
