Future Schedules

Going by what is listed on this site, looks like we won't be looking for any new "marquee" games for the next many years. I am assuming that our philosophy going forward will be to play one marquee game, one MAC-level game, and a 1AA each year OOC. Here it is year by year, as it stands now:

2013: Penn St, @Northwestern
2014: @ND
2015: @ND, Navy
2016: ND
2017: ND, @Navy

Unless we choose to get out of the game @Northwestern, 2013 is probably set. Grab a 1AA and we're done. Strong schedule, 11 BCS teams.

Going forward, ND is our marquee game. We won't need another big name on the schedule until 2018. Navy is perfect in the "MAC" spot, could even be a little tougher than most MAC teams. If they had an opening, I would say try to get a home-and-home with Army in 2014/2016. That would give us 4 straight years of ND / Service Academy / 1AA for OOC, which sounds like a good schedule to me.

Right, which leads to another of the challenges trying to get games for this year. Very few openings on future schedules now.

I think the road/MetLife games v. ND aren't accurate on that list. Aren't '14 & '16 in NJ and '15 & '17 @ND? If so, I hope we get odd years as our year with 5 ACC home games, otherwise those schedules will make the locals less happy as it'll be tough (impossible) to have 6 in the dome.

Depending on how we fill the 2012 schedule there might not be any openings until 2018.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Navy series by cut in half, rescheduled or dropped entirely. Navy will have to drop a lot of games. Their 2016 & 2017 schedules already have 9 games on them. The 2017 game against SMU will be absorbed by the NNBE, but they will have to drop at least 9 of those games.

I just updated my Future Syracuse Football Schedules spreadsheet. It was nice to actually fill in some ACC names. Can't wait until 2013 situation is cleared up and the schedule rotations are announced.
