FWIW Lunardi has us out

not sure if he's provided one yet, but would love to hear/read his rock-solid explanation of why Vandy should be in over SU

ESPN's narrative the entire day Wednesday was playing up the Syracuse-Pitt "play in game" because in reality there was not that many meaningful games yesterday. So they had no choice but to follow up on this hype of the loser is out game and move Syracuse out. They couldn't get them off the last spot n soon enough last night. Then Oregon St won against an amazing 5-13 Pac 12 team and jumped Syracuse.

Point is given all the hype and certainty they gave to the loser being out, they are not turning back on it. They called Syracuse out for sure yesterday, so they would look silly to bring them back in today, or even discuss them against anybody. They are dead to them -- otherwise they look silly. But the fact is the field is fluid.

What will be interesting is when Oregon St loses tonight.

Syracuse was 4 spots ahead of Oregon St before losing to Pitt. Oregon St not only jumped them by beating Arizona St, they are now 5 spots ahead if Syracuse. And I am sure they will stay ahead tonight on the s-curve after they lose.

So - a win over a 5-13 team and a lost to Cal, allows you to climb 4 full spots (or more) Amazing stuff

Enforcement arm of the NCAA has been communicating to the selection com to keep us out at all costs. A little bird from Indianapolis told me this before loss to Pitt... a lot easier now.

Sounds like a fail safe claim that holds no merit.

If they beat Pitt -- they had no choice but to let them in but they were definitely trying
If they lose to Pitt - see, see they are out!! I told you so. (when in reality they were likely out anyway for not that reason)
