This kid, Wilkinson or Blyden would be my 3 favorites to land for starting PG.

They have money to spend, if the staff really believes in him overspend here.
He has Labaron Philon comparisons all over him. Bama seems reasonable. Wouldn’t expect UConn to be much of a threat if they retain Ball and Demary. But if they do lose one of them… that’s where I would expect him to land.

Neither of UConns backcourt pop up all over any draft boards I’ve seen so could certainly see both back.

He would probably cost somewhere in the 2.5 to 3 million range but would be worth every penny. 100% all in on him if that’s what they choose.

Would love Wilkins or Wilkinson. Give me at least 1 of them to be our starting PG.
I still really like Duel, will cost a lot less to potentially give us a better shot at winning. Great defense with a good assist to TO ratio.

Yeah, and his TO/game number is slightly higher than what we saw from George this season. OTH, he was just a Freshman.
He would start at PG the minute he steps on campus. This kid is goooood.
Also can we take a moment here to give G-Mac kudos on his evaluation of talent. G-Mac wanted this kid to come to Siena, was a no star recruit. Kid decides on Furman and lights it up. Doty, no star recruit and goes to Siena, lights it up. Folefac, no star recruit and goes to Siena, veryyy good freshman season. That’s 3 dudes in 2 years that basically nobody heard about in high school. G-Mac got 2 of them, almost got the 3rd and all 3 killed it their freshman and sophomore years. That’s extremely promising. Not only shows he has an eye for talent, but the 2 that went to Siena were also developed….talent evaluation and developing talent were huge weaknesses, of the many weaknesses of the previous staff. Good stuff. G-Mac really likes this kid and we have a legit shot.
If we bring in Wilkinson, Wilkins, Wagner, Moesch, Doty, Anthony, Morano. That’s a helllll of a back court. And can slide Morano and Doty to the 3 as well. Even if we get just one of Wilkinson and Wilkins and everybody else. That’s still a hell of a backcourt. However Wilkinson and Wilkins…..that just sounds like a backcourt that was meant to be lol
Bring in Folefac, hopefully keep Sadiq, get Estrella as our front court.
Obviously we will probably need a 3/4 combo forward, a 4/5 combo forward and another true center. Then we could be off to a really good start. I’m really looking forward to some of these visits from the transfers we are targeting

Either one would be amazing. But you can legitimately get both. We have money to spend this year. Wilkins can be the PG, Wilkinson at the 2. Then Doty at the 3. Could have Wagner and Anthony coming off the bench to back up the guards. Morano can back up Doty and back up the 2 guard. That’s a legitimate rotation that could work and is 100% doable. That’s some really good talent and versatility. As well as offensive power we have not seen in awhile

Yes. A couple of those guys mentioned, Morano isn’t gonna cost much, Anthony will not cost much (for obvious reasons), Folefac isn’t gonna cost much, Moesch will not cost much.
Right now your big hitters will be Wilkinson, and Estrella. Wilkins and Doty are also expensive but a tier or 2 below Wilkinson and Estrella. If we get Sadiq to come back. He’s probably in the same tier as Doty. If we wanna win games we gotta spend. We have a bit more money than last year.
Last year you had George, Kingz, Freeman, Starling and freaking Betsy making pretty dang good money. And we have a pretty good amount more than last year. It’s doable. And I think G-Mac can pull it off. We have STRONG connections and relationships to all these guys tbh. And we have a wideeeee open roster where a bunch of those guys can come in and play right away.
These kids notice the playing time available, they will get paid good, they have strong relationships/connections with our staff and yes Syracuse is still considered a big time program in a big time conference. There’s a lot to sell to these kids right now

WWW backcourt - Wilkins, Wilkinson & Wagner - would be one of the best in the ACC, if not the country.
Three really talented guys with realistic NBA aspirations but with all 3 players still needing to be further developed in order to make the league.
A revitalized Syracuse with HCGM and his solid new staff would be the perfect place for all 3 to showcase that development. That would be one hell of a portal haul for the backcourt, one that's already been strong with the wing additions of Doty and MMM. Fingers crossed. I like Wilkins the best but I'd take any of the three individually. Any two out of the three would be awesome. And all three would be an absolute homerun in my book.

Agree all 3 definitely are not happening. Agree 1 is far more likely.
If our assumptions are correct, we have Anthony, Morano and Doty to play SG. I think Morano is at least initially going to play 2G almost exclusively. And I think Doty is going to play SF most of the time.
Wilkerson is a 2G. I think any consideration to take him was lost when we took Morano.
We need at least 1 PG. if we take 2, it means Moesch is probably redshirting.
Wilkins has 3 years left. If we end off with him, Moesch might leave. His metrics on offense are generally very good, though he turns the ball over a lot. He has issues defensively but is likely to get better over time.
Dual will be more affordable. He is great defensively but not much of a scorer. His assist to turnover ratio is very good. He has one year of eligibility left.
My guess is we end up with Dual. He plays 30 minutes a game and Moesch plays 10. Something like that. And we use the money saved at PG to get a better center and a stretch 4 that can shoot from 3.
