Can’t shoot the 3 (Less than 30%), Can’t shoot FTs (61.5% from the line), Can’t defend (Worst graded defender on a bad big sky team). Even if he’s just a practice body, what is he bringing to the table a walk on isn’t? Not that this pickup bothers me obviously, I just do not understand.

Well, as much as he isn't great, he does have more college minutes under his belt than a walkon and actually made a play here and there.

He's deep bench depth that won't block anyone, is probably stoked to be here, and is gone in a year.

Plus his last name is cool. This is a zero downside pickup.

I guess he’s more valuable than a walk on.

Shrug.

If he plays any meaningful minutes the season is over anyway.

6-4 and a good frame as a guard means he can play various roles as a practice player and one who actually has played meaningful minutes.

Another guy. What does it cost us?
No idea what the NIL cost was. It just seems like a warm body. I’m not against it, just underwhelmed, I guess. I was just holding out for more than a practice player. Hopefully there’s more positive news down the line.

My brain says this is a questionable pickup, my eyes see some potential as a guy off the bench….we’ll see, I don’t want to be too negative, kids can take jumps from year to year and maybe they think he can come off the bench and give solid minutes

I’m just not sure how much value someone who isn’t going to play having college minutes under his belt brings, not that I disagree with the zero downside point. Obviously we’re not paying him anything and he’s not preventing us from adding someone else we want, I’m more so surprised he wanted to come here to ride the bench for his last year of basketball. Everyone is different but I’d be looking to drop down a level and get on the court.

I mean we are after Deng and if not Deng there will be a rotational guy brought on similar as the last piece that actually can expect to contribute. After that it’s guys like this who likely cost nothing but get an opportunity to be the guys who no one knows but work hard in practice.
